What does the book of Revelation have to say about Y2K? The dawn of a new millennium has been on everyone's minds in some way or other. Lots of folks are making big bucks playing on people's fears that the year 2000 will see the sky falling and the world coming to an end. It's the hot topic of movies and books and documentaries and... Lots of other folks are making big bucks convincing people that if they do "this, and this and this" they can survive a world-ending catastrophe. Pretty silly. (Think about it... if Jesus does decide to return in the year 2000, we can make all the physical preparations we want and it won't change a thing. When the end of the world does come, the only preparation that will make any difference is spiritual preparation: Have you placed your faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. If the Holy Spirit has brought you to that place, you are already as prepared as you can be for the Last Day - whenever it comes.) I hear lots of people talking about prophecies by ancient "seers" like Nostrodamus. Eventually someone will remember that the Bible talks about the end of time in several places, most notably in the book of Revelation. So, the question always comes up, "What does Revelation say about the end?" God in the book of Revelation has indeed revealed many details of the end times - and what will happen after the end. So, since everyone is preoccupied with "end times" speculations and questions, there may never be a more appropriate time for us to take a look at the book of Revelation in detail. We will do this during the Bible Study hour prior to worship this fall (mid-September through mid-December). What does the book of Revelation have to say about The End? Join us Sunday mornings beginning September 19 @ 9:00 and find out. Bring a friend who's interested too. Thanks for asking, Pastor David Send your questions to [email protected]
