Santa’s Reindeer
Materials:
• Construction Paper: 1 Sheet 9” x 12” Red
1 Sheet 8” x 5.5” Black
• White Glue
• Used Magazines Time: 30- 45 minutesSkill Level: Intermediate
Instructions:
Find shades of tan
and brown colors
in magazine pages.
Look for the colors.
It does not matter
if it has pictures or
words on the paper
you chose.

1. Tear a rectangle from
one of your brown color
papers. Tear one of the
bottom corners off
slightly so it would look
more like the body of a
reindeer. Note: Do not
apply glue yet!
3. Tear
a small
triangle
for the
head.

rectangles
for the side
branches of
the antlers.

the neck of

reindeer.

7. Optional: Tear small square or round
shaped papers for the markings on the reindeer’s body.
Fold the red construction paper in half to
make a card. Glue the 8” x 5.5” black construction paper on the front of the card.
Glue the reindeer onto the black paper.
Flying Reindeer
Skill Level: High
Make two reindeer. Tear out reindeer body parts and
arrange them in their approximate position (Fig. A).
To show movement: Glue the reindeer diagonally,
place the legs of the reindeer in slanted angles and
add small white pieces of paper to represent flying
snow (Fig. B).

• Pencil
• Reindeer Patterns Time: 45- 60 minutes
Skill Level: Low to Intermediate

6. If you choose
the large reindeer pattern,
follow the same
steps: #1, #2, #3
and #4 as the
small reindeer.
1. Choose patterns
for small reindeer or
large reindeer. Cut
out pattern pieces.
Note: the pattern
pieces may be shared
with others.

3. Cut out body parts
of the reindeer. Lay
them out in their
approximate locations. You may cut
out pieces for either
one or two small
reindeer.

2. Trace
pattern pieces
onto magazine
paper with a
pencil.

4. Fold the red or
green construction in
half to make a card.
Paste the black construction paper on the
front of the card. Put
the parts of the reindeer together where
you want it on the
card before gluing it in
place.
7. Glue the red nose
and the eye in place.

5. Cut out small white
pieces of paper for
snow. Glue them
around and on the
reindeer. You are finished with the Santa’s
Reindeer card!

8. Optional: Add yellow stars or snow in the background.
Note: Stars are not included in the pattern pieces.
