Participate in 40 DAYS FOR LIFE As a visible sign that all Life is precious from conception to natural death, St. Philomena Parish will make its presence known at the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Federal Way for five (5) consecutive Tuesdays beginning February 16th from 9am until 3pm. We do this as a visible sign of our love and support for LIFE. During two hour time commitments we walk and pray for changes of heart and to offer prayers for individuals who have made decisions against life. We are scheduled on the following Tuesdays: February 16, 23, March 01, 08, and 15. We ask for a 2 hour commitment, if possible each of the 5 weeks, with groups of at least 2 people for each time slot. Sign-up sheets can be found on the bulletin board outside the main entrance of the Church, or you can stop by or call the office to place your name on the schedule. Please walk in witness of our God who created us all in His image and likeness. Signs and booklets will be provided at the site or you can check with the Deacon for materials. Let us show by our visible presence that we are committed to LIFE. Shalom, Deacon Jerry 1/17/16 Page 4 Registration for the 2016-2017 school year will soon begin. St. Philomena School offers many options for your child’s educational needs. Registration opens January 31st, 2016. We offer a 4 year old PreK program. The St. Philomena School PreKindergarten program is an early childhood development and educational program that is designed to address and enhance each child’s ability to make age-appropriate progress in an appropriate range of settings in the development of language and cognitive capabilities and emotional, social, regulatory, and moral capacities through education in basic skills. This program is a precursor to Kindergarten and the goal is to prepare students to meet Kindergarten expectations. All students must be 4 by August 31, 2016 to be admitted into the program. We also offer a 5 year old Kindergarten program. Kindergarten is an important year, when students transition from home, preschool or PreK and begin their educational and spiritual experience. Our mission is to teach, model, and promote Gospel values in all areas of a balanced curriculum so that the teachings of Christ become our focus and Christ Himself, our constant point of reference. The St. Philomena Kindergarten Program is a full day, five day a week program and is integrated into the full school calendar. All students must be 5 years old by August 31, 2016 to be admitted into the program. In addition we have 1st through 8th grade classes that offer a strong Catholic and academically challenging education, that not only includes the core subjects, but religion on a daily basis and specialist classes such as technology, PE and music. St. Philomena School is having an Open House on Sunday, Jan. 31st from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and Wednesday, Feb. 3rd from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
