SUBJECT:
North Fort Myers High School to Induct Noel Devine into Hall
of Fame
North Fort Myers High School is set to celebrate the career of Noel Devine during a hall of
fame induction ceremony at the school. Noel will be honored at halftime of this Friday’s
football game (9/4/15) as the Red Knights host Fort Myers High School at Victory Layne
Chevrolet Stadium at Moody Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
North Fort Myers High School Principal Matt Mederios is excited about the celebration
and looking forward to the well-deserved recognition for Noel. "Noel Devine is one of the
greatest high school football players I have ever seen. Noel was a human highlight reel,
and we are very proud to be inducting him into the North High Hall of Fame,” he shared.
Devine played for the Red Knights under head coach James Iandoli from 2004-2007 and
holds eight (8) school records, the most in school history. He also holds the Lee County record
for career rushing yards (6,842) and career touchdowns (92). In the 2000s, the individual
performances of Noel Devine took center stage, as he shattered all of North Fort Myers High
School’s records, as well as Lee County’s records, for a running back. Devine led North Fort
Myers High to the Regional final in 2006.
He went on to star at running back for West Virginia University, where he amassed 4,315
yards rushing (3rd all-time at WVU) and 29 touchdowns, which ranks 6th all-time at WVU.
Devine has played professionally in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal
Alouettes and Edmonton Eskimos.
North Fort Myers High School is located at 5000 Orange Grove Blvd., North Fort
Myers.
