How to find your pulse
Your pulse is a way of counting your heart rate. Every time your heart beats, you can feel it
on ‘pulse points’. There are 2 main ways to find your pulse: in your neck, and in your wrist.
Often people find one of these ways easier than the other, so try both ways to see which is
best for you.
Neck
With your left hand, straighten
the 1st and second finger, and
put that at the top of your neck
on the middle (harder section).
Move them toward the right, into
the softer area. Press gently, and
you should feel your pulse. If
you would like to use your right
hand, do the same, but move
your hand to the right.
Wrist
Hold your hand out palm up. Put
the first and second fingers of
the other hand over your wrist,
between your hand and where a
watch might sit. Line the ends of
your finger up so they sit in
line with your first finger. Press
gently and you should feel your
pulse.
