Mellor, Issa and McLean are 2012 Dunes Club Champions
After 36 Holes of strokeplay over the Lakes course, the 2012 Katameya
Dunes Club Champions are decided. Taking the Junior title is Andrew
McLean after rounds of 88 and 80 for a 168 Total. Sophie Issa defended
her ladies title after rounds of 82 and 90 for a 172 total. The Men’s Champion was Steve Mellor after rounds of 79 and 80 for a Championship winning 159 total. Pictured are our club champions. Congratulations to all.

Dunes. Competitors enjoyed a “Dine
then Nine” experience. After a light
buffet in the clubhouse, the players
armed with luminous balls, lighted
tees and flagsticks, players used 3
clubs and a putter to play nine holes
starting from 7:30PM
Heights juniors lead after first leg of junior match
After an exciting afternoon of matchplay golf, it is Katameya Heights Junior team
that take a 1 points lead going into the second leg of the inaugural match to be
played at Heights in January. On a perfect afternoon for golf, 8 juniors players
from each club competed in four 4-ball matches over the Dune’s Lakes course. IN
the opening match, Heights pairing of Burton and Hassan Said defeated Bent and
Bill Kidd 2/1. The second match went in favor of Heights with Ali Lemmon and
Callum Gibson defeating Zizo Said and Harry Butterworth with Heights winning
2/1. In match three some outstanding golf from the Heights pairing of William Foda and Euan Morrison gave them a comfortable victory over Stewart and Andrew McLean. The fourth and final match of the day, went down to the wire with excellent play, in front of many spectators and fellow team members. The Heights pairing of Soraya and Nazly Scarello finished with a halved match again the Dunes pairing of Dominic Coutts and Alex Kidd. The match went down to the 18th
green in near darkness with the hole halved in excellent par 5s. The second leg of the match will take place at Katameya
Heights on Saturday 19th January 2013.

points total gave them a 1 point winning margin
over runners up Ahmed Durrani and Saleem
Ulhaq, who managed a 40 point total.. Third
place went to another husband and wife pairing
of Betsy and Brad Steer one shot further back on
40 points.
