The 14th annual Potter Cup will be held at Marple Newtown Senior
High School on Friday, January 27th , 2017. This event is planned for all the
students and families of Paxon Hollow and Haverford Middle Schools . The
following events will take place during the Potter Cup:

The school that wins two or more of these events earns the "Potter Cup." There
will also be food , dance, fun , lots of games and prizes.
The proceeds from this event will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand, an
organization dedicated to pediatric cancer research. Since its inception, our
schools have donated over $400,000 to Alex's Lemonade Stand and pediatric
cancer research. The theme for this event is "Kids Helping Kids".
In order to assist with transportation , we will be offering the following Potter Cup
Package: (All families are invited to attend after 3:00 PM, but the package is for Paxon Hollow students o nly. )

Medication dispensing information:
If your child is attending the Potter Cup and normally receives afternoon
prescription medications, the nurse will administer those meds prior to departure
at 1 :30 pm . Please be advised that medications including inhalers and EpiPens
will not be dispensed from the nursing office to accompany your child. Also,
nursing services are not available to your child at Marple Newtown Senior High
School.

How about sponsoring our "Road Trotters"?
To help increase our contribution to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a few of our finest have
"volunteered" to dribble the game ball from Paxon Hollow to Marple Newtown Senior High
School. Our trotters include: Mr. Wendler, Mrs. Reardon, Mr. Weiss and other brave souls. This
year the Road Trotters dedicate their run in honor of Hailey Parker. Hailey would have been in
61h grade this year. Sadly, she lost her battle against cancer in October 2015. If you would like
to make a contribution via a pledge for our trotters, complete the form below and send it in to

This event is fairly extensive and we could certainly use some parental help to organize and
run the day. Do you have some time available on Frid ay January 27th?
One of our greatest needs is to have adults ride the buses to the Potter Cup- this wou ld
require being at Paxon at 1:00pm. We could also use some help with supervision at the event
(2 hour shifts).

Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, this is the basket for you! Just be sure to brush your
teeth after enjoying the many goodies from the Treat Basket. Items may include but
not limited to candy, soda, snacks, etc ...

Potter Cup 2017 -Special Packages
Only a total of 100 tickets will be sold for all special packages. Every year, people
wait too long to purchase a package, especially Cape May and New York, and end
up disappointed. We must sell 75 tickets for a package to be offered.
Package # 1 -Dine Around - $15.00 per ticket
Package includes $250.00 worth of gift certificates to restaurant(s) of your
choosing and 4 bottles (2 red, 2 white) of wine.
Package# 2- Cape May Get-Away- $20.00 per ticket
Win a getaway for 2 at the Queen Victoria Bed and Breakfast in Cape
May. Good for at least a 2 night stay if you stay from November to March
(not December), breakfast and tea each day, $125 dinner certificate and a
$100 Visa gift card are included in this package.
Package # 3 - Phillies in Style - $25.00 per ticket
Package includes 4 Diamond Club seats ( 1 set available for most home
series), 6 hours of limo service and a $100 Visa gift card. Diamond Club
seats provide access to the Diamond Club Lounge and the Hall of Fame
Club. These seats also have in-seat wait service and their own concession
stands. Limo and gift card can be used at a different time.
Package # 4 - Broadway in Style - $30.00 per ticket
Package includes a limo to and from New York ( 10 hours) and 4 tickets
(balcony) to see a show of your choosing and a $150 Visa gift certificate.

When : Thursday, January 26th (the day before the Potter Cup) from 3:00 - 5:00 in room 110
Why: Support children with pediatric cancer, raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand, wear the
hat of your choice in school on Potter Cup Day, get a free temporary tattoo and have your
name entered into a raffle to shave a teacher's head.
