Arlington Christian School is a unique institution and its leader should have unique
competencies. Leading a school like Arlington – with its small size, broad mission, and
ambitious goals – is not for everyone. It will take someone as unique as the school itself
to be as successful.
The HOS position is one that reports solely to the collective Board of Trustees (the
Board), and interacts most often with Board Chairperson. The Board Search Committee
is responsible for identifying and securing a HOS through an employment contract with
defined terms and requirements. Therefore, Search Committee seeks a HOS who is able
to:











Represent and advocate the mission of the school and address all matters of school
climate and culture.
Represent the Board in its relations with the faculty, staff, and students and the school to
all of its constituents including neighborhood, parents, students, alumni, and the business
community.
Understand the essential tasks of major donor cultivation and solicitation as well as
overall development and fundraising strategies and staffing.
Listen attentively; seeks to understand others' points of view; adapts communication
styles and content to audience needs; writes clearly, concisely, and persuasively; and is a
compelling, articulate public speaker.
Select and hire properly qualified persons to serve as members of the faculty and
administration.
Have direct supervision of the faculty and staff and shall coordinate the activities of the
entire organization.
Hold regular meetings of the faculty and staff and see that the general policies of the
Board are understood and followed.
Supervise all programs of the school (academic, athletic, ethical, and other extracurricular
programs).
Exhibit moral judgment, honesty, and humility and lives his or her values in relationships
with colleagues and stakeholders.
Understand the major concepts of funding and expenditures within public and private pay
contexts, as well as budgeting, balance sheets, cash flow management, and financial
reporting to the Board.
Know that enrollment drives institutional impact and finances and therefore commits
energy and resources to student recruitment and provides leadership and oversight to an
effective admissions process.












Monitor curriculum, grading, testing, and reporting to parents.
Prepare for and conduct periodic program evaluations.
Submit reports to external agencies as required.
Enforce disciplinary policies and standards of conduct.
Work with the Board in carrying out established school policies; to review those policies
and make recommendations.
Attend Board meetings as requested, prepare reports, maintain board records, and keep
Board informed on all aspects of the school's operation.
Supervise the admissions director in determining programs for the recruitment of
students, including marketing and outreach, information dissemination, applicant testing
and interviews and acceptance and decisions.
Maintain and update employee handbooks, and maintain appropriate personnel records.
Supervise the school counselor in planning for an appropriate program for college
guidance and college admissions, transcripts keeping and testing records.
Guide certified personnel through the certification renewal process, providing
Professional Learning Unit (PLU) courses approved through the Georgia Professional
Commission;
Work outside the school to make connections for donations, scholarships and financial
aid opportunities.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Board.

Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40).
Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church.
The next Head of School will refine and articulate the school’s message that Arlington
Christian is unparalleled in its ability to help and educate its diverse student body, and
that it fills a vital gap in the South Fulton, Douglas, Paulding, and Fayette county
educational landscape.
