Gateway Norway AS, Haugesund office in Norway, is pleased to present this
special requested short report–NorwayforMarch2017:three companies;
Fosen, Kleven and Vard.Thereportisbasedontheofficialinformationinthe
media and also on the personal notes / discussions by the undersigned during
themeetingswiththeseyardsjustfewweeksago.Theundersignedisjust“inthe
middle of the first road show – Norwegian shipyards 2017”: totally about 20-25
various Norwegian shipyards visited / to be visited in March / April 2017 from
North-Norway via West-Norway down to South-Norway. The report is attached
withthelatestupdatedshipbuildingorderbookoverviewinNorway.
The main goal of this monthly project is to inform Finnish companies in the
maritime & offshore sector about current / new activities and news in the
Norwegianmarket.

Theyarddoesn´thaveanyconfirmednewbuildingcontractscurrently,they
areworkingwithseveralnew“projects”,e.g.about200meterslongRo-Pax.
Theyardislookingfortheyardwhichcouldbuildthehullande.g.RMCfrom
Rauma has been contacted in this respect, but the yard in Rauma doesn´t
haveavailableproductionslotforthat.

§ FosenYardhassignedanewcontractwithFjordLine.60new
cabins to be built on MS Stavangerfjord and MS Bergensfjord.
MS Stavangerfjord will arrive at Fosen Yard end of October
2017.MSBergenfjordwillarriveearlyJanuary2018.Bothfor6
weeks conversion period.Both cruise ferries are built at the
yard.

CoastGuardVessels:–3vessels
Defence equipment department has been commissioned to carry out the
acquisition of three new Coast Guard vessels to replace vessels in Nordkapp
class.Intheperiodupto2024CoastguardvesselsinNordkappclass shouldbe
replacedbythreenewvessels.Nordkappclasswerefazedin1981andhasbeen
intheCoastGuardfornearly40years.TheMinistryofDefencehasgivenDefence
equipment commissioned to undertake procurement. The procurement will be
done according to the Procurement Regulations for the defence sector and is
aimedatNorwegianyards.
Facts:
Keybenefitsforvesselsarethecapacityneededtopatroland,withthesupport
of a private helicopter, solve assigned tasks throughout Norway interest;
including Arctic waters. This requires vessels oceangoing properties, strength,
stability,helicoptercapacity,iceproperties,sensorandcommunicationcapacity.
The vessels will have the capability to interact with and support civil and
militarydepartments.
Status:
TheprojectwaspassedinParliamentinstandardproposal12013/2014;thenas
a “single” vessel. In 2016, the agreement was amended to three vessels. The
change means that the Defence Ministry should promote the project again to
Parliament.Ithasbeendecidedthatitshouldbedonewhenthereisanegotiated
contract.

Six Norwegian shipyards are prequalified and has received request for the
constructionofvessels.Thepre-qualifiedshipyardsare:

• VardLangstenAS
The shipyards have until early 2017 to prepare and submit a tender for the
constructionofvessels.
