ABSENCE POLICY With the current flu “outbreak”, we would like to remind you of our policy concerning children who have been sick. Our absence policy states that students should be fever-free for 24 hours prior to their return to school. Health care professionals have encouraged us to stress that this should be 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Students who have had an above-normal temperature within a 24-hour period are considered contagious and put the rest of the student population at risk if they return to school, as well as being at risk themselves for a relapse. If your child has been ill, please make sure to check his/her temperature without fever-reducing medication a full 24 hours before returning to school. If your child leaves school with a fever, he/she may not return to school the following day. LOST AND FOUND If your child is missing a coat or some other item, please come in and check to see if any of the lost and found items belong to your child. CARPOOL REMINDER Just a couple of reminders to help things move smoothly: 1) Remember that there is NO PARKING along the curb. If you need to come inside for some reason, be sure to park in a regular parking space. 2) There are NO LEFT TURNS ONTO WOLF RIVER PARKWAY from our front parking lot during either morning or afternoon carpool times. Left turns onto Wolf River should be at the traffic light at the intersection of Wolf River and Forest Hill Irene. If you need to make that left turn during drop off or pick up times, please proceed slowly around the building (15 mph limit) to the back entrance to Forest Hill Irene Road and turn left at that traffic light. MOMS IN PRAYER Please join our Moms in Prayer group on Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the Library to pray for our Lower School. We are grateful for the privilege and power of prayer! SCHOOL VISITORS Please remember to sign in at the office any time that you visit the school during normal school hours. Forgotten lunches or other items should be brought to the office, not to the classroom. We will make sure that your child receives the item in a timely manner. We want to protect our classrooms from interruptions as much as possible. TARDIES Start time for school is 8:20am. There is a 5-minute grace period until 8:25 am. If students arrive at school later than 8:25 am (the doors will be locked) they are considered tardy. A parent must bring the student into school and sign them in for the day.
