ESOLUTION OF THE
AYOR
ITY OUNCIL

Glidden, Cano, Bender, A. Johnson, and Palmisano
Honoring LaTonia Green for her service to the City of Minneapolis
Whereas, LaTonia Green began working for the City of Minneapolis on June 1, 1998 as a Budget and Evaluation
Analyst; and
Whereas, LaTonia’s multiple talents and considerable skills significantly impacted the quality of the Finance
Department; and
Whereas, LaTonia’s contributions have been recognized by several promotions; and
Whereas, in 2015 was appointed as the Budget Director for the City of Minneapolis; and
Whereas, LaTonia’s steady, firm hand, coupled with a huge, smiling personality has guided the City Council
and City staff through what could be very contentions decisions, including the annual City Budget process and
the budgetary roll-over process; and
Whereas, it is the force of LaTonia’s deft skills and personality that is credited with keeping these decisions
from being unduly belligerent; and
Whereas, LaTonia has almost fully adapted to being a “Minnesotan” from New Orleans; and
Whereas, LaTonia’s infectious laugh made many smile and laugh along; and
Whereas, LaTonia has recently accepted a job in a nearby suburb and will be sorely missed by her colleagues
at the City of Minneapolis .
Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Minneapolis:
That the City Council thanks LaTonia for her 19 years of service to the City and wishes her well in her
future endeavors.
