Placement Test Scores of Students Entering DCCC Fall 2015
The graphs and tables in this report show trends in the placement test performance of students entering DCCC.
 In general, the percentage of students who placed into transitional Math or Reading decreased over the past 10 years.
Total placements decreased slightly from 53% in 2014, to 51% in 2015. If ESL-only placements are included the
percentage is 53%.
 There was a slight decrease, from 37% to 35%, in the number of new students who placed into developmental English.
Twenty-two percent of those students’ scores qualified for ALP placement.
 Placements into developmental reading decreased from 30% to 29%.
 Placements into each Basic and Developmental Math increased to 29%, a slight decrease in Minimum Entry 4%.
 The percentage of students with placements in all three subjects held steady from 2014 at 19%.
 The Venn diagram on page 2 shows the overlap among new students with transitional placements across the Math,
English and Reading placement tests. The placement numbers from 2014 are in parentheses. The number of all
placements subjects is down, with the exception of single placement in Math. The relative percentages remain stable, as
the number of new students is also down.
 The Venn diagram on page 3 shows three year trends in transitional placements and the overlap of double and triple
placement.
