Waterborne Clear Wood Finish is crosslinking acrylic
technology, formulated to embody the positive qualities
of our Clear Wood Finish brushing lacquer, without the
environmental and flammability issues of the original
solvent formulation. Ideal for the professional and DIYer
alike. It is very easy to apply, and offers the best
performance of any waterborne finish on the market.

Waterborne Clear Wood Finish seals, finishes, and gives a
rich luster to many interior wood surfaces (except floors).
Ideal for :

• Fine for use on rose woods and other exotic hardwoods
• Excellent for use on crafts and toys.
APPLICATION:
1.Sand the wood to proper smoothness (do not use steel
wool) and remove dust. Apply stain if desired.
2.If using stain, follow the instructions on the can to insure
proper application and dry times.
3.Apply Waterborne Clear Wood Finish with a brush, pad,
roller, or spray.
4.Let dry 2 hours between coats. Apply at least 3 coats.
5.Sand between coats using fine (220 grit) sandpaper and
remove sanding dust.
6.Clean brushes and/or other application tools with soap
and water.

DESCRIPTION: WATERBORNE CLEAR WOOD FINISH seals and finishes interior wood. It’s self-crosslinking
technology yields optimal chemical resistance. Excellent for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, furniture (baby safe),
and many other interior wood surfaces. Easy application, low odor, and water clean-up.

SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, rust,
stains, grease, oil, mildew, wax, efflorescence, and other
contaminants. Remove all loose, peeling or cracked coatings.
Repair all cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections with
a suitable patching material. Repaired surfaces should then be
sanded, and cleaned.

Waterborne Clear Wood Finish will cause some grain raising.
Light sanding with fine sandpaper will remove swollen wood
fibers.

56-60 K.U. (Stormer Viscometer).
THINNING RECOMMENDATIONS
Waterborne Clear Wood Finish is supplied at application
viscosity. Thinning is not recommended.

CLEANUP
Soap and water cleanup. Dispose of waste in accordance with
applicable laws and regulations.
PRIMER
WATERBORNE CLEAR WOOD FINISH is a self-priming product.
OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION
Waterborne Clear Wood Finish can be applied over well
cured stains and penetrating oils. However, make sure the
stain has been wiped off the surface completely, and has
dried thoroughly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Test a small area before finishing the entire project.
WARNING
Waterborne Clear Wood Finish does not adhere
to finishes containing Zinc Stearate.
Do not apply Waterborne Clear Wood Finish over Deft’s
Lacquer Based Clear Wood Finish, wax, shellac, or silicone.
PROTECT FROM FREEZING.
