New Members Welcome We extend a warm welcome to singers of any age. We are a friendly choir and are actively recruiting in all voice parts. Prospective singers come along for two or three rehearsals, after which a short audition is required. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays evenings from 7:45pm to 9:45pm at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Ringmead, Bracknell. The group is very friendly and having fun is an important part of our evenings, led, aided and abetted by our Director of Music Nick Austin. Director of Music Nick Austin Men! We aim to achieve the highest possible standards of performance across a broad range of repertoire and musical styles, whilst at the same time seeking to entertain our audiences whatever their background. Some of our recent concerts: Thames Voyces presents a varied selection of concerts each year in the south Berkshire area around Bracknell, Wokingham and Crowthorne. We rehearse at South Hill Park in Bracknell and perform there regularly in the lovely Recital Room and the Wilde Theatre. Diarist and music-lover Ben Jonson spoke of “the voyce so sweet, the words so fair, as some soft chime had stroked the air”. We do hope you will consider joining us or coming to listen to those sweet voyces very soon. Our Director of Music Nick Austin joined us in 2013 and has made quite an impression with his infectious enthusiasm, his love of music, his desire for passionate performance and his unique sense of humour. Nick is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, also directs Stanmore Choral Society and is the rehearsal pianist for Bracknell Choral Society. Friends and Sponsors We invite you to join the “Friends of Thames Voyces”. For a small annual subscription you receive discounted tickets, advance notice of concerts, an invitation to an annual social event and reserved seats on request. Or, you can join our mailing list. Individuals or businesses wishing to sponsor the choir or advertise in our programmes are also welcomed. We are very happy to discuss your specific objectives.
