TargetAudience:
Our audience includes dental, social work, medical, nursing, chaplaincy and public health professionals, as
well as anyone who wishes to broaden their knowledge of current ethical issues and controversies associated
with the promotion of health and well-being.
LearningObjectives:
1. Participants will demonstrate knowledge of current ethical challenges in the care of patients and
populations with specific attention to the context of their geographical setting.
2. Participants will explore innovative practices for social justice advocacy in the delivery of health care.
3. Participants will evaluate novel approaches to promote health in urban and rural settings.
4. Participants will examine the ways in which narrative ethics and effective communication strategies
can improve patient care.
