I’m not hearing back
You have applied for a number of positions that are closely aligned to your skill set. You
deem the opportunity to be realistic in terms of your qualifications and experience, but your
applications continue to fail. What are you doing wrong?
Recruitment agencies in particular often receive multiple applications from the same
candidate. It’s worth considering if this is you and if so, what can be done to improve your
chances? If one application has been unsuccessful it is worth revamping your CV and
reproaching the company, client or agency in 6 months time. It’s not healthy to bombard a
prospective recipient with your CV lots of times particularly without changes.
A robust application goes a long way. Your CV is an artifice, it does not tell the reader how
communicative you are, how confident, articulate or how capable you believe that you are.
Additionally if your CV does not detail every given role and experience it is unlikely you will
receive your desired outcome.
