The WALK ON THE WILD SIDE was held at Leisure farm
on Sunday 20th March 2016, at 8:30 in the morning.
We started off at the Bale Club and ventured in
to the wilderness.
We were privileged and
excited, that Mr Vincent, chairman
of Nature society of Johor, gave
us a tour around the unspoiled
parts of Leisure Farm.
Mr Vincent is a well known
naturalist, photographer,
horticulturist and author, so
who better to share his deep
passion for nature, and in-depth
knowledge of the flora, fauna and
ecosystems in Johor and beyond.

Orchard Farm and Canal Park and
learned about the natural habitat

Mr Vincent also shared with the
residents how to appreciate wild
plants, flora and fauna surrounding
their neighbourhood. It was an
inspiring walk to say the least.

FArm day
Working those green hands are the
perfect remedy for happiness. Peaceful
and calm, our day outside was not only
educational but a lot of fun.
We spend our days behind
computers and on our phones that
we forget to see what we have under
our noses. Where were the days that
we new the names of the plants in
our garden. There is nothing more
pleasing then growing your own
vegetables and herbs. This day was
spent learning how to grow your own
tea leaves, how to plant new herbs
and vegetables and how to prune
your trees. The perfect start to a
green life and we hope many
will follow.
Dancing Dragons In The House
Our open house was loud and colourful and the new year was ushered in with a bang, lots of oranges and new friends.
Dragons are of course legendary animals, but they are important to the Chinese culture, to whom dragons are seen as helpful and friendly creatures. They
symbolise good luck, long life and wisdom. Besides the amazing dragon performance, our exciting programme consisted of a string quartet performance, balloon art
and many other fun activities. In between light refreshments, the residents enjoyed meeting their neighbours and spending time with their loved ones.
