VACAVILLE POLICE TO TRADE IN HANDCUFFS FOR APRONS, TRAYS
Tip-A-Cop fundraising event benefits Special Olympics Northern California
Members of the Vacaville Police Department will be serving up burgers,
appetizers and more on Saturday, October 13 to help raise funds for Special
Olympics Northern California.
The popular Tip-A-Cop Event will be held from 4-9 p.m. at the Red Robin
Gourmet Burger restaurant, 186 Nut Tree Parkway, in Vacaville.
Special Olympics Northern California provides year-round sports training and
competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. By participating in
sports, physical fitness and healthcare education programs, Special Olympics
Northern California athletes increase self-confidence and social skills, improve
physical and motor skills, and have better success in leading more productive
and independent lives.
Members of the Vacaville Police Department have been actively supporting
Special Olympics for over 15 years through fundraising, running the Special
Olympics Flame of Hope (Torch Run) through our city, and volunteering at
awards ceremonies at competitions. The Vacaville Police Department is
dedicated to volunteering in our community.
Supporting local and national causes that promote the health and welfare of
families in local communities is an important part of the Red Robin culture. Red
Robin has been supporting Special Olympics Northern California for the past six
years, and has helped raise more than $1.5 million for Special Olympics.

Northern California has more than 15,000 athletes compete in 154
competitions throughout the region in 12 sports year-round. With the help from
Law Enforcement Torch Run efforts, athletes participate free of charge.
To participate, come to Red Robin between 4-9 p.m. on October 13 and enjoy
a meal served to you by one of Vacaville’s finest. During this fundraiser, the
officers will donate 100% of their tips to Special Olympics.
