Join the Yucca Council as we recognize Harold Hahn with the “Good Scout Award”
All Friends of Scouting and the general public are invited to join us, as we come together to recognize Mr. Harold Hahn,
one of the pillars of our community and a true friend of Scouting for his life-long commitment to youth and our
community. Please join us as we celebrate all that Mr. Hahn has done to serve our region through his leadership.
Mr. Hahn's leadership and commitment to the success of the youth in our community has endured for decades and his
service to our community, especially Scouting, is beyond extraordinary.

About Harold Hahn...
Mr. Hahn is chairman and CEO of Rocky Mountain Mortgage Company, a mortgage banking company serving the west
Texas and southern New Mexico markets. The company is active in land development, residential construction lending,
loan origination and loan servicing. He has been active in the mortgage banking industry in El Paso for the past 42 years.
Mr. Hahn's community involvement includes having served as chairman and vice-chairman of the Texas Higher
Education Coordinating Board, the board is responsible for the strategic planning and policy of the state's higher
education institutions and closing the gap in educational attainment throughout the state. He also served as chairman of
the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority, the primary entity responsible for major transportation infrastructure
development in the El Paso region. Additionally, Mr. Hahn has previously served as a director of the Greater El Paso
Chamber of Commerce and a director of the Yucca Council, Boy Scouts of America. He is a past president of the El Paso
Mortgage Bankers Association and a past director of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association.
Mr. Hahn was awarded the UTEP President's Medal in 2015 for his dedication and interest in higher education. In 2011
Mr. Hahn was elected to the El Paso Business Hall of Fame. He has also been awarded the Mortgage Banker of the Year
by the El Paso Mortgage Bankers Association and the Sportsman of the Year by the El Paso Chapter of Ducks
Unlimited. He is a lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited, the Safari Club International and other hunting and
conservation associations. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor's of Business
Administration in Finance. This fall, Mr. Hahn is being honored as an ENMU Distinguished Alumni.
Mr. Hahn was not in Scouting as a youth, but is most proud of his two son's having earned the highest rank in Scouting Eagle Scout, while he was serving in Troop #279 as their Scoutmaster. Troop #279 is chartered by the Vista Ysleta
United Methodist Church in El Paso. Harold is the proud recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor that a
local Scout Council can bestow upon a dedicated Scouting volunteer. Harold and his wife of 41 years, Beth, have two
married sons and one married daughter, one grandchild, and two grandchildren on the way - one boy and one girl.
