? CALOUNDRA MUSIC FESTIVAL DESIGN OUR LOGO COMPETITION! THE FESTIVAL The Caloundra Music Festival is a three day, not for profit celebration of ‘Sun, Surf & Soul’ held at Kings Beach on the Sunshine Coast. Held from 28 – 30 September 2012, the family-friendly festival includes a diverse line-up of entertainment from well-known Australian and international performers, as well as a free community “Village” featuring emerging artists, multi cultural groups, schools and community ensembles, a street parade, busking competition and roving entertainment. Visitors and locals will see their favourite bands performing in spectacular ocean-side settings and emerging artists in the local parks, pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants. OBJECTIVE To design a logo for the Caloundra Music Festival GUIDELINES Your logo entry must: • Be completely original work (unless you choose to revamp a previous CMF logo – more info below!) • Include wording ‘Caloundra Music Festival’ • Include the tagline ‘Sun, Surf & Soul’ • Include the festival date (28-30 September 2012 for the upcoming event) • Be easy to read & recognise • Be approx 220mm wide x 190mm high – or a scaled down version of these dimensions. Your logo entry should encapsulate the feel of the festival. If you haven’t been to CMF before, here’s what it’s all about: • Sun, surf & soul! • Family-friendly • The beach/sand/ocean/music/chilled vibe/pandanus trees/sun etc • Main target market is Gen X and their kids, although CMF has a wide appeal. • Sustainability – the festival has an increasing focus on becoming a ‘green’ event • Quality international and Australian performers with a broad appeal - including the likes of Powderfinger, Paul Kelly, Eskimo Joe, Tower of Power, Missy Higgins, Pete Murray, Jet, Shawn Mullins, Toni Childs, The Whitlams, Kev Carmody, Jimmy Barnes, Little Red, Kate Miller-Heidke, Ian Moss and Jon Cleary. Below are the CMF logos used in previous years. For 2012 and beyond we want to use a single snappy logo. Feel free to use components and ideas from previous logos if you think you can create our ultimate logo! (This is the only instance where you are able to submit work with elements not completely original!) THE PRIZE: The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $1000, a merchandise package, and a double pass to the Kings Lounge at the 2012 Caloundra Music. PLUS the best part of all is that YOUR logo will be walking around on hundreds of peoples’ backs, hanging on thousands of walls around the country and under people’s noses in countless publications! 5 x runner-up prizes will include a ticket to the Kings Lounge at CMF12. JUDGING Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, aesthetics, use of space and colour and suitability for the festival. A team of key festival personnel will select the winning entry. The winning design may be altered or changed to ensure that it is the best fit possible with the festival.
