Some may play more than one group. Vocal range: B4 – E6 Royalty King Stefan and Queen Stefanie require strong actors who can convey parents’ anguish at sending their baby girl away to be raised in the woods. No vocal solos. May also be cast in the Animal Chorus. King Hubert is the loyal friend of King Stefan and requires a strong actor who can show comfort & support and cause the celebration. May also be cast in the Animal Chorus. Prince Phillip requires an actor who can commit and remain focused. Phillip is a warm, likable young man with a strong sense of self. This actor will also need strong timing and physical presence for the battle with Maleficent. Vocal range: C5 – G5 Young Prince Phillip is featured at the beginning, where he meets the baby Aurora. This smaller actor may also be cast in the Animal Chorus. Princess Aurora (Briar Rose) requires a strong actor/singer. A free-spirit with a strong will, she is a happy girl of sixteen, who listens to her elders but still dreams with her heart. Requires enough maturity to sell the moment when Briar Rose discovers that she is really Princess Aurora. Vocal range: B4 – D6 Three Good Fairies Flora is the ringleader and most practical, requiring a strong actor-singerdancer. Although she is “the boss,” Flora is not bossy – just more clearheaded than the others. Vocal range: A4 – C6 Fauna is the peacemaker and “middle child,” also requiring a strong actorsinger-dancer. Fauna sees both sides of issues does her best to smooth out any conflict. Vocal range: Bb4 – C6 Merryweather is impulsive and emotional, requiring a strong actor-singerdancer with good comedic timing. She has a hard time giving up her magic powers and is the most delighted when their wands come out of the closet. Vocal range: A4 – D6 Maleficent is the most demanding role and requires a mature actor/singer who can carry solos and entire scenes. Evil, but smart, she may use magic to destroy her enemies, but her intellect is her real power. Maleficent’s frustration with her “slow” Goons gives her a bit of comedy. The magic of Maleficent’s dragon transformation at the end require focus and maturity. Vocal range: A4 – D6 Audition Song Cut and Character Sides available Dec. 9
