FOX SPORTS Australia today announces the launch of the new Watch AFL™
service - its first direct to consumer international streaming product.
Marking FOX SPORTS’ first foray into international distribution, the
partnership will also provide a blueprint to explore similar opportunities with
rights holders across the company’s full suite of sports.
Watch AFL™ is a ground-breaking streaming service built on a high-tech
new platform optimising the fan experience. Featuring every AFL game live
plus all of FOX SPORTS’ favourite AFL entertainment shows, FOX SPORTS
and News Corp will deliver the joy of the game to fans around the world,
boosting the reach and taking AFL to a whole new audience.
Australians living and travelling abroad, as well as the growing number of
international AFL fans, will be able to watch every game throughout the
season plus every Finals match live and on demand. FOX SPORTS’ week
long line-up of AFL programs, powered by the most experienced
commentary team in the business, will also be available on the innovative
new product.
In addition, FOX SPORTS will continue to push into new markets after being
appointed the AFL’s sales agent for the international AFL broadcast rights
from 2018.
