125TH ANNIVERSARY SONG-WRITING COMPETITION 2017

Open to all current active members of the Girls’ Brigade International (GBI).
Songs are to be written in English. The lyrics should reflect the ICGB theme for 2018 “Fruitful and
Overflowing”. The theme verses for the 125th Anniversary are from John 15:16-17.
Songs submitted should not be more than 4 minutes in duration.
Songs should be lively in nature and suitable for use in company meetings, praise and worship
services.
Lyrics and melody must be original.
All entries must reach us by 30 June 2017.

Lyrics of songs must be biblically and theologically sound.
Music of songs must be of a catchy tune, suitable for use by the members of the Girls’ Brigade
International.
Songs will be judged on song-writing arrangement or technique.
Entries should demonstrate originality and creativity.
All entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Girls’ Brigade International.
Girls’ Brigade International reserves the right to decide if the entry will be used as the 125th
Anniversary theme song.
SUBMISSION OF SONGS:





Songs submitted must revolve around the theme “Fruitful and Overflowing” based on the theme
verses from John 15:16-17.
When submitting your entry, please ensure the following are included:
1. Video or audio recording of the song in MP3, WAV or MP4 format
2. Lyrics sheet (PDF format)
3. Music Score or Chord Chart (PDF format)
4. Completed Song submission form

2. All submissions will receive an acknowledgement and song entry number.
