11 TIPS for 2011
Fashion:
HUGE SALE!!!

1) BLING is in … rhinestones aren’t just for dress-up any more … wear them all day, every
day – evening, business casual, and even with your jeans on the weekend!
2)Scarf tying – Drape a scarf around your neck so both sides are even in
length. Using only the right side, tie a loose knot in the middle of that
side. Take the other side and simply thread it through the knot. Tighten
the knot. To wear with a coat, tie the knot closer to your neck, or lower it
on the scarf to wear as an accessory to your outfit. Loads of new scarves
are arriving at Great Impressions. More are showing up each day!
and home accessories.

3) Did you know? Rolling up your cuffs or pushing up your sleeves to mid forearm
instantly makes you slimmer! Try it!!!
Decorating:
4) Use wallpaper on ONE wall. Current patterns are on a larger scale,
and a little goes a long way. It’s a great way to spruce up the
right room … and on a smaller budget.
5) Give a dining area a new look by using an upholstered chair at one
or each end of a dining table.
6) Place unusual items on the wall or use as accent items. This is a
great way to make a statement about YOU … your interests and your
individuality. (How about a cello?)
7) Paint interior doors a bright, contrasting color for interest…
8) Use mirror tiles cut in narrow strips around the ceiling as a
border. The ceiling is usually the largest flat surface in a room …
why not do something eye-catching, interesting, and unusual?
9) Other materials can be used in place of crown molding for the same effect. Check this
out in the store – we did it because the walls in this old building were too curved to use
conventional crown molding, but we wanted that look.

Cleaning:
10) Step 1: white vinegar Step 2: olive oil. Results … beautiful, nearly-new-looking stainless
steel kitchen sink! Bonus: soft hands and cuticles!
11) Clean your laminate countertops with spray car wax – they’ll look better than ever!

America’s Mart –
Building 1 many to share as they work with you on your
decorating projects. One of the trends you
will be seeing is that gray and white are everywhere. These can be
both refined and elegant. Add a pop of orange, red, turquoise or
green and the look becomes casual and fun. These subdued tones
were seen in concrete countertops, velvet upholstery, gray-washed
wood in furniture, and of course, clothing and jewelry.
Bird and owl motifs were seen in artwork, fabrics, and
statues, on rugs and in jewelry. Vintage is a HUGE look in home
accessories. The worn metallic look of mercury glass was presented
not only in the familiar silver but also blue, green, red and pink.
