We are pleased to announce Award Winning Photographer
Simon Plant is launching a very unique portrait service.
Simon brings his extensive commercial experience to offer
a bespoke portrait service that is simply a world away from
the high street portrait studio. Simon says:
“We’d like to roll this out as a bespoke service to capture
unique children’s portraits. With our background in high-end
photography and retouching we can place the subject within
unique scenes be it a football stadium or a fairy-tale scene.
Our aim is to produce a beautiful and very unique image with
the skills we have honed over the last 25 years.”

A fantastic and fun day for all will
be held here at Monks Yard later
on this month. Hosting a BBQ and
hog roast, various unique craft
stalls including All Things Bright
and Beautiful Jewelery, Bubs Bears,
Poppylilly Gifts, Audrey Strawberry
Vintage Style Accessories Hire,
Absolutely Divine Cupcakes. The
Rosie Crane Trust will be present
again this year, so please support
our local Charity and have a go on
their Tombola! Live music this year
will be provided by superb local
bands Farfisa and Seatrees and new
for this year will be a Street Dance
workshop for U16’s* (aged 10 and
under from 12.30pm – 1.15pm and
aged 11+ from 1.30pm – 2.30pm)
You’ll also find Archery, an outside
Cider and Ale tent and lots more!

Enjoy an exciting talk, to include
hints and tips on how to keep
your flower beds bright and
colourful and how to make your
vegetables grow, by life long
gardener Toby Buckland. Known
for his appearances and hosting
on various TV shows, Toby will
be recognised for his fame on
BBC2’s Gardeners World. Following
his talk, Toby will be happy to
answer questions related to the
gardening world and will then sign
books for his supporters. Included
in this marvelous opportunity,
will be afternoon tea served with
strawberries and bubbly – splendid!

GOODBYE SARAH
We are all very sad to say goodbye
to Sarah. She has been a fantastic
member of the team and we will all
miss her. On behalf of Monks Yard
we wish her well on her travels and
future veterinary training.

Project Hope – a charity
providing aid, medical
equipment and training to
developing countries. Their
warehouse is based in one of
the Monks Yard barns.

MY Church meets every
Sunday from 10.30am. All
are welcome and there is
also a prayer room open to
everyone 7 days a week. MY
Church is also now running
a new Café-style church.
Meeting on the First Sunday
of each month, these are
informal get-togethers and
open to everyone. Please ask

offers a wonderful, relaxed environment to
quench your thirst or fill your belly. We use
as many local ingredients as we can get our
hands on and food is always freshly prepared.

MY Events offers a variety of rooms bursting

people up to 120, we can tailor an event to

As explained briefly on the left, MY Church is
built on a community of people of all ages and
backgrounds. We have a variety of meetings
that run throughout the week and are suitable

What’s with the
strange name?
The Monks Yard stands
on the site of an old
monastery and small
chapel. Research suggests
that some of the site dates
back to pre-sixteenth
century. Throughout the
extensive renovation and
development work, much
care and attention was
given to honouring the
existing structures.
