Born in Berlin, Germany (May 30th, 1947)
and often working in England and San
Francisco, Erik Spiekermann is a world
famous typographer and designer with
numerous awards under his belt. Spiekermann first dipped into the industry via a
gifted miniature printing press at the age
of 12. He then went on to work at a type
foundry where he met one of his largest
influences, Gunter Gerhard Lange, his
type teacher. In recent days, he has
worked for massively successful companies - Apple, Ferrari etc. - while creating
one of the largest font distrubution sites
- FontShop International. One of his very
notable achievements is the creation of
the very typeface you’re reading.

As a generalist typeface, Eve has proven to be friendly and soft as
it’s letterforms are accentuated by round generous curves on an
elegant slim frame. The inviting display face is complemented by
subtle detailing. Compared to the other members of the Source Sans
Pro family, Eve has an increased stroke contrast, rounded shoulders
and curves, an overall narrower form, and smooth line quality. The
addition of Eve to the type family has resulted in the elevation of
Source Sans as a whole, thanks to a charming subtly embellished
display face that is sure to benefit the print and web worlds. The
natural simplicity and ordered forms of this slim sans serif typeface
channel themes of elegance, ideal for display use in lifestyle magazines.

I’ve noted whilst going to work and taking public transportation, most of the encountered sound
gets transfered into white noise, while I am with my own thoughts. Data, collected six separate
times over the span of January 9-29, displays a combination of noises I pick up that are essential
to my route, and sounds I do not usually regard but are still nonetheless, there.
