Check whether the installation is correct before commencing startup. General information Observe the following information: • Make sure that the cable outputs of the THM10C pick-ups connected to X21/X22 or X31/X32 of the TPM12B mobile converter are always aligned in the same way with the line cable. When choosing the mounting position, ensure that the cable outputs of the THM10C pick-ups do not point in opposite directions (up and down). They must all either be at the top or at the bottom. The following illustration shows correct and incorrect mounting positions: 1362544267 28 Operating Instructions – MOVITRANS® TPM12B Mobile Converter Startup Startup steps I 6 0 6.2 Startup steps Proceed as follows for startup: 1. Make sure that compensation is made for the line cable and that the current supply is correct. The TPS stationary converter is operating. 2. Make sure that the cable outputs of the THM pick-ups connected to X21/X22 or X31/ X32 of the TPM12B mobile converter are always aligned in the same way. 3. Make sure that the load (for example an SEW frequency inverter with motor) is connected correctly to the TPM12B mobile converter. 4. Select the enable mode of the output voltage. (X11:B6 = "0" for delayed enable, X11:B6 = "1" for instantaneous enable) 5. Set a "1" signal at binary input "Enable" (X11:B5 = "1"); an output voltage of DC 500 V is now available at X11:A1/A2. Irrespective of the DC 500 V output voltage, the DC 24 V output voltage of the TPM12B mobile converter is available when the power supply is connected. 6. When the output voltage is available at X11:A1/A2, the binary output "500 V OK" will switch from "0" signal to "1" signal. This signal can be used, for example, as an enable signal by the connected load. Operating Instructions – MOVITRANS® TPM12B Mobile Converter 29 Operation Operating status 7 7 Operation 7.1 Operating status The TPM12B mobile converter has 2 operating states that you can set with the binary input "Enable" (X11:B5): 7.2 • "0" signal = DC 0 V output voltage • "1" signal = DC 500 V output voltage at X11:A1/A2 Operating displays 4 operation LEDs show the operating state of the TPM12B mobile converter: Operating state MOVITRANS® TPM12B Operation LED LED lights up green LED does not light up 500 V OK DC 500 V output voltage present at X11:A1/A2 Output voltage UA at X11:A1/A2: DC 0 V < UA < DC 460 V 24 V DC 24 V auxiliary voltage is present • • • Coupling > 50 % Coupling current 0 ... < 50 % Unit X22 Unit X32 7.3 Fault information 7.3.1 Unit protection DC 24 V auxiliary voltage is not present 24 V short circuit No supply The TPM12B mobile converter is protected against overtemperature and overvoltage. The unit will turn itself off in case of a malfunction; the binary output "500 V OK" will have a "0" signal and the LED "500 V OK" will go out. The DC 24 V auxiliary power supply (X11:B7) remains intact. 7.3.2 Reset Proceed as follows to perform a reset: • Apply a "0" signal to the binary input "Enable" (X11:B5 = "0"). DC 0 V output voltage is now present at X11:A1/A2. • After waiting for 1 second, apply a "1" signal again to the binary input "Enable" (X11:B5 = "1"). DC 500 V output voltage is now present at X11:A1/A2. 30 Operating Instructions – MOVITRANS® TPM12B Mobile Converter Service Electronics service 8 Service 8.1 Electronics service 8.1.1 Sending in for repairs 8 Please contact the SEW-EURODRIVE Electronics Service if you can not rectify a fault.
