Mendeleev Periodic Table Simulator
Activity
The Periodic Table that we are using nowadays is developed from Russian scientist Dmitri
Mendeleev’s Periodic Table created in 1869.
The Simulator allows us to experience how Mendeleev created this well-known Periodic
Table.
Fundamental Level
: Card game sets #2 and #3
These two games are related to the concept about arranging substances.
Allow about 10 minutes to complete the two tasks.
Advanced Level
: Element cards
This game simulates how Mendeleev arranged elements according to their chemical
compositions, atomic weights and properties. It is how Mendeleev created the
Periodic Table.
Allow about 45 minutes to complete the task.
Refer to the Instruction sheet about how to play the game.
Pages 3 – 6 show the outcomes of the tasks.
