Setting Up a GroupWise Rule to Automatically Delete Your Sent Items
Many of us have thousands of emails in our Sent Items list that we have neglected to delete, because it
takes time/work. The GroupWise server space is limited, and it's important for everyone to clean up
their Sent Items. Unlike the Trash that gets automatically deleted every two weeks, the Sent Items
needs to be manually deleted.
An easy way to delete your Sent Items is to set up a GroupWise Rule to automatically delete them.
Setting up a rule that will delete any email sent that is older than 90 days (or any amount of days you
prefer) will take you 2-3 minutes. Follow these steps:
1. Go to the GroupWise Tools menu > Rules
2. Select the New button and name the Rule and select the Item types by checking the boxes as
shown in the screen shot.
4. Select Define Conditions and match the screen shot above. Then, click OK.
5. Be sure to select Add Action to Delete/Decline. Click Save. Then, Close.
Now, you're all set for a Rule to execute upon Startup, Sent items that are dated (delivered ) 90 days
before today will be deleted.
Note: The trick here is the -90 value to specify Days. If you prefer 30 or 60 days, enter -30 or -60.
