Chess
New Website
We were pleased to host the Liverpool Chess club
for some Merseyside Junior chess league matches
on Saturday 11th February. We were especially
pleased to welcome Jim Gallagher, President of
the Liverpool Chess Club, back
to Sacred Heart. Jim was a
former pupil at our school and
had a guided tour with
Mrs Roach. It was lovely to
hear some of his special
memories of his time in our
school.
We are excited to announce our new school
website is now live! We want this to become the
place to go to for information about term dates,
clubs and school news. Please have a look at it and
we welcome any feedback.

Kids Club
There are still places available in our new kids
club. For more information please call into the
office.
FREE After School Club
We are pleased to announce that after half term
after school clubs such as judo, gymnastics, choir,
dance and football will be free of charge. We will
be sending letters out after half term with more
information regarding this.
Kids Club aims to allow children to socialise, have
fun and make friends in a happy and relaxed
atmosphere. Also offering parents/carers the
reassurance that their child is cared for out of
school hours in a safe, secure environment.
Open Monday - Friday 3.15 - 6.00 pm.
Only £7 per session.
SCHOOL RE OPENS TUESDAY 28TH FEBRUARY
We really enjoyed our trip to the ‘Crucial Crew’ workshop where we learnt
about road and rail safety, first aid, the dangers of electricity and keeping
safe on line. These skills may well come in useful as we become more
independent and prepare to go to high school.
In R.E. we have been looking at the
biggest selling book of all time —The
Bible. We have been learning how to find
particular passages and how stories can
vary in different versions of the Bible.
In English we have been
learning about
journalistic writing. We read
lots of newspaper reports
and have written our own
reports. Check out this
weeks Big Write! We also
filmed our own news
broadcasts about a bag of
money being discovered in
school grounds!
Our science
workshop was
great fun. We learnt
about the law of
reflection!
In maths we have been using
apparatus to explore ratio, area and
perimeter.
