The National Amateur Dodgeball Association was created as a recreational
pursuit for non-traditional sport enthusiasts. It is an alternative sport requiring
minimal equipment, set up and playing experience. Teamwork and strategy
are more valuable factors in dodgeball than athletic skill and individual
competitiveness. Anyone can play. Experience is countered by enthusiasm.
Dodgeball promotes maximum social enjoyment.
Our childhood game is now safe and more enjoyable with rubber coated
foam balls, safety conscious rules and a festive, special event, tournament
atmosphere. The game fits many programming scenarios including youth at
risk programs, children’s activities, summer camps, picnics, and corporate and
adult challenges. The opportunities are endless.
The Game of Dodgeball:
• 6-10 players per team, 6 start each game
• players are “out” of the game when hit on a fly below the shoulders or when
their thrown ball is caught on a fly.
• played on a court or field at least 50’ long by 30’ wide with a center line (ideal
size: 60’X30’)
• 3 minutes per game
• 6 balls in play at same time
• first team to eliminate all members of the opposing team within regulation
wins a game
• rules enforced by court monitors using the “honor system” and player code of
conduct
• rules for dodging, timeouts, stalling, substitutions, overtime and protests also
have been established
