“The speed of innovation and how it changes
our industry is probably faster now than it has
ever been, hence the need for us to upgrade
our online print management capabilities and
stay in front.”
Rob Dallimore, Managing Director
Worldwide Printing Solutions
Established in Western Australia in 1995, Worldwide Printing Solutions is one of the
biggest print franchises in Australia, delivering more than 120 million items to over
35,000 customers annually. With offices all around the country, the company is
continuing to grow in strength and achieve new levels of innovation.
More than just a design and print hub, Worldwide prides itself on offering state-ofthe-art technology, highly-trained experts, and a tailored Advisory Service which
helps organisations develop their strategic vision. They also have a unique Centralised
Production Hub, which allows their franchised print centres – which are dotted around
the country – to offer diverse products and fast turnarounds to their customers.
They maintain their reputation for innovative thinking by constantly delivering the
latest and greatest worldwide technology to the market, for the exclusive use of their
design and print centres.
The feather in Worldwide’s cap is the fact that they are 100% carbon neutral in a
large majority of their centres around Australia.
Challenges
In the late 90’s, the company identified a need to differentiate themselves from the
rest of the print market in order to attract new customers. They introduced an online
ordering system called OPM (Online Print Management), the first of its kind in the
franchise industry.
Challenges
• Need to differentiate themselves
from the rest of the print market in
order to attract new customers.
• Difficult for end-users to navigate
without receiving significant training
through the online print management
system.
Solution
• XMPie uStore
Benefits
• Simple to use
• Time-saving
• Increased capabilities
While very basic, OPM highlighted the benefits – and popularity among their
franchisees – of online print management.
Rob Dallimore, Worldwide Printing Solutions’ Managing Director, explains: “As time went by, other companies caught up, so we
embarked on a journey to become the most innovative again.” A second version of OPM was developed, offering a larger range of
features. However, it was difficult for end-users to navigate without receiving significant training.
The company decided to create a third version of OPM, aptly named OPM3, in order to further improve the customer experience, and
deliver the latest technology to their franchisees.
“Since we rolled out the
new online solution, we’ve
seen a large number of new
customers join our franchise
network. Working with Fuji
Xerox allows us to modify our
software to ensure we keep
ahead of the pack.”

Solution
Worldwide Printing Solutions approached
Fuji Xerox in 2012 to design the third
installment of OPM using Fuji Xerox’s
XMPie uStore software.
Dallimore states, “After extensive research,
we found our partner in Fuji Xerox, who –
with their product XMPie – were far ahead
of their competitors. Fully backed by Fuji
Xerox, the XMPie software would enable
us to create a unique offering in the
marketplace.”
A web-based solution, it provides a suite
of features to Worldwide’s franchisees:
• Management of online print purchases
• Online Catalogues of customers’
templates
• Direct marketing campaign production
with Personalised Print, Email and SMS.
The solution went live in March 2016.
Benefit - Simple to use
OPM3’s user interface is simple for
franchisees to use, largely due to the
fact that the software was integrated
with Worldwide’s existing management
information system known as ‘Quote &
Print’. This meant franchisees didn’t need
to learn how to navigate a whole new
system.
Fuji Xerox also ensured a seamless
implementation of the solution by
providing national training workshops and
system customisations.
Dallimore explains, “The support we
received from Fuji Xerox prior to launching
our new online tool was outstanding. They
worked with us to ensure the software
suited our franchise owners’ needs, as well
as our customers’ needs.”
The convenience of being presented with
a familiar platform also increased the new
system’s initial uptake by franchisees.
Benefit - Time Saving
Fuji Xerox worked with Quote & Print to
connect the two systems and eliminate
the double-order entry requirements
that usually exist with many other
systems. Orders placed online are now
automatically created in the management
information system, without the need for
franchisees to get involved. This saves
them a significant amount of time to
focus on core business activities.
For customers, online ordering is now
faster than ever before, and can be
completed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Previously, orders could take as much as
2 days to be processed. Now, they are
processed in an average time of 2 hours.
Benefit - Increased Capabilities
Dallimore adds, “For the franchisees, they
have a system they can use for their own
marketing and promotions by utilising the
tools they’ll offer customers, such as email
and direct marketing print campaigns.”
Adam Fittler, National Sales Manager for
Fuji Xerox, worked closely with Worldwide
during the software’s development. “The
new online system allows for a wider
range of transactions to take place online,
making it easier for their customers to fulfil
marketing needs, as well as print needs.”
Onwards and Upwards
Dallimore describes how OPM3 can assist
franchisees with “taking their businesses
into the future. Today, the system mostly
drives print and promotional products, but
with the ability to offer web pages, email
content and SMS services, the system
really offers the ability to cater for the
future, which was a major objective for us
with this investment.”
“Fuji Xerox have been
excellent to work with. Their
support and expertise has
been – and will continue to
be – significant in our ongoing
success.”

Worldwide Printing Solutions
The fact that OPM3’s capabilities stretch
far beyond print purchases means a
whole new world of opportunities have
opened up for Worldwide’s customers and
franchisees, all through the one portal.
The solution can offer the development
of integrated media campaigns, as well as
the collaboration with clients to help them
execute across multiple communication
channels, in the form of Print, Web, Email
and SMS all through the one system.
