Today is a “B” day.
Congratulations to both Dan DeCarlo and Dylan Booth who participated in the 2014 NYS Wrestling Championships this past
weekend. Both wrestlers did a great job representing Port Jervis. Dan led Section 9 with a 3 rd place finish. This is the second time Danny
has placed in the NYS Tournament, he took 5th place last year. Great job both Dan and Dylan!
Congratulations to the Odyssey of the Mind Team of Alli Buzzelli, Shelby Hoovler, Nicole Komonczi, Kaitlynn Lane, Sarah Tidd,
and Austin Wilson, who won second place in the Division Three Problem Two category on Saturday in Goshen
Congratulations to the Odyssey of the Mind Team of Rashaad Escamilla, Andrew Henderson, Hunter Kostenbader, Ariana Laupati,
Jessica McBride and Garrett Reichert, who won second place in the Division Three Problem One category on Saturday in Goshen.
This weekend the Section Nine girls distance medley relay team, anchored by Kaylah Quarshie, placed third in the state. They
missed second by five one hundredths of a second. Kaylah is only the second girl in Port history to medal at the state championships.
Steven Branham was ranked twentieth in the 1000m. He finished thirteenth in the state and broke the school record in the process; Kobie
Lane was running in ninth place until re rolled his ankle while trying to avoid another runner. He showed tremendous grit and courage
finishing the race in spite of his injury.
The Winter Athletic Awards Ceremony is scheduled for tonight, March 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the HS Auditorium. The
snow date will be Tuesday, March 4th – same time and place.

Mock Trial is meeting this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the attorney’s office from 4:30-6:30. Mr. Dunleavy’s room is
available for practice after school every day this week.
The Freshman Advisory Peer Leader Combine will be held on Tuesday, March 4th after school in the gym. Permission slips must be turned in
to Mrs. Schields in the Guidance Offices in order to participate.
Attention all wrestlers: There will be a meeting in room #119 on Wednesday March 5 th at 3:00 p.m. It is a
mandatory end of the year meeting. Coach Hartmann and Foley will be there. If you have not yet turned in your equipment
please do so as soon as possible.
Need to stay after for a club or team, and need something to eat…you can now order sandwiches at the school store!!!
Sandwiches made to order, chips and a drink. Must order sandwiches in the morning, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and pay for them
at that time. Sandwiches will be available for pick up between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. next to the school store.
Port Jervis High School is seeking a driver for representation in the World’s Largest Local Soap Box Derby taking place in June. See Mr.
