Description:
Aimed at those who have completed Beatrijs’s course ‘An Introduction to Art History through
the Eyes of the Artist – PART 1’, this short course will continue to expand your knowledge about
artists and the inspiration behind their work.
This course is designed to increase your enjoyment of visual art by enabling you to understand the
most significant eras in art, covering Expressionism, Cobra, Fauvism, Cubism, Surrealism and
Futurism as detailed below.
After completing this course you will be able to visit museums and galleries and have a better
understanding of art-work and how art reflects the society, economy, culture and music of its time.
Representations of works through the centuries and from different traditions will be used to initiate
discussions and to support an understanding of the way in which history and culture shapes and
influences artists.
This fun course will further enable you to learn how look at art and enjoy it, whilst developing your
visual and critical skills and understanding what art means to you.
