Therefore, when LOGMAN, a Finnish manufacturer of
high-end forestry forwarders & harvesters, searched for
quality tires to equip its machines with, Alliance forestry
tires were selected.
Since 1992 LOGMAN is
manufacturing its innovative
forestry forwarders and
harvesters for cut-to-length logging applications. Situated
in Kurikka, Finland, the company sells its product in
over 10 countries. LOGMAN lets its customers choose
the tires they’d like their new machine to be fitted with.
According to LOGMAN, the Alliance forestry tires are
popular among its customers as “Alliance has a wide
range of products covering most applications & sizes,
outstanding quality and most important: fast and reliable
service and delivery through the local Finnish Alliance
distributor (NDI Finland)”.
Mr. Ilkka Eerola, a Finnish forestry contractor, is one of
LOGMAN’s recent customers. Located in Saarijärvi, he
owns and operates two LOGMAN machines, a harvester,
and a 2010 811F forwarder. For his forwarder Mr. Eerola
chose 8 Alliance F-343 size 710/45-26.5 tires.

The working conditions where Mr. Eerola operates
his machines are characterizes by their sever terrain
conditions. This area, located in the central part of
the country, is known as one of the rockiest areas in
Finland. During the winter months however, the terrain
is covered with snow. In order to achieve optimal traction
and mobility while working in these extreme terrain
conditions, the tires are fitted with chains on the front
bogie and tracks on the rear bogie.
Mr. Eerola, who had no previous experience with
Alliance products, expressed his satisfaction with the
performance of the tires: “after 2000 hours of operation

in the toughest conditions we work in, these tires are in
excellent condition and definitely in the same league or
even above any other premium forestry tire I know”.
Alliance’s field engineer, who recently checked the F-343
tires mounted on Mr. Eerola’s LOGSET forwarder, found
that after 2000 hours the tread wear was only 3mm, a
figure that reflects a promising potential for an original
tread life of 20,000 hours.
