What You Agree to Do
In signing and submitting this May or Summer Session contract to UGA Dining Services, you agree to make payment on your student account
balance in accordance with billing instructions published by the University of Georgia Bursar’s Office. The charge for the meal plan(s) you
choose will be posted to your student account. You will receive notification of the meal plan charge posting to your student account along with
payment instructions from the Bursar via an e-mail to the e-mail address you have registered with the University of Georgia.
You agree NOT to take food out of the dining commons. This promise is very important, because without it we could not possibly offer
such great dining at these terrific prices. If you take food out of the dining commons, we can take away your Meal Plan rights without giving
you a refund.
You agree NOT to allow others to use your ID to access any UGA Dining Services location. If you allow unauthorized access or use,
then we can take away your Meal Plan rights without giving you a refund.
2
You agree to behave responsibly in all UGA Dining Services locations. If you behave irresponsibly in any location, then we can take away your
Meal Plan rights without giving you a refund. If interruption of enrollment occurs as a result of University disciplinary action, no refund credits
will be made to your student account after the 2nd week of service.
What We Agree to Do
We agree to give you unlimited dining commons access during the period covered under the plan you choose. (If you lose your UGA Card, you
may obtain a new one at the Tate Student Center. We are unable to give you a temporary card.) Your encoded UGA Card is your key to
unlimited and unrestricted access into the dining commons open for service.
Your Meal Plan Bill of Rights
If you decide to cancel your Meal Plan, or if you do not enroll at the University of Georgia, and you let us know before the first serving day of
the May or Summer plan (s) you have chosen, then you have the right to leave the Meal Plan and be credited a full refund.
If you decide to withdraw, you may cancel your meal plan contract. Refunds in the form of a credit to your student account will be made for
the unused portion of the meal plan you purchased. If interruption of enrollment occurs as a result of University disciplinary action, no refund
credits will be made to your student account after the 2nd week of the session.
If a physician prescribes a special diet for you to address a health problem and Dining Services is unable to provide the special diet, then you
have the right to leave the Meal Plan; Dining Services will issue a refund credit for all of the money that you have paid for future meals. Dining
Services on-staff, registered dietitian is ready to help with counseling to make the Meal Plan work for you. You cannot leave the Meal Plan
because of a diet that you follow for other reasons, or because you have committed to eating somewhere else (for example, a sorority,
fraternity or other social organization), so be sure the Meal Plan is right for you before you sign up.
Refund credits to your student account will not be given for any meals missed because of academic scheduling problems or trips taken by
students for academic or extracurricular purposes. For academic scheduling conflicts, off-site meals may be provided to students who meet
requirements. For periods of sickness or hospitalization, a refund credit will be granted for all meals missed in excess of 15 consecutive meals
when supported by a physician’s statement.
Other Important Information
Signing up for the Meal Plan is not the same thing as admission to the University. You cannot participate in the Meal Plan unless you have a
valid UGA Card.
This agreement is severable. That means that if any part of the agreement is invalid, the rest of the agreement is valid.
Dining Services reserves the right to limit the number of dining commons it operates during the last registration period prior to the beginning of
classes and on the last examination day of each summer session.
Cancellation will result in a refund credit to your student account, less 15% of the stated price of the contract, plus the cash rate for each day
on the meal plan. No refunds after 60% of serving days have passed.
If the student is under 18 years of age, this contract is also an agreement between the University and the student's parent, guardian or other
guarantor. The parent, guardian or guarantor must also execute this contract if the student is under 18 years of age. (Sign Below)
