Make sure that the threads of the fill plug (2) and fill port (3) are clean. Install the fill plug and hand-tighten. Do not use a bung wrench. Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation. 9. Close the pressure relief ball valve by turning the handle (6) a 1/4 turn clockwise. Only use solvents that your material supplier and facility representative approve for use with primer. 10. Open the red primer air shut off valve by turning the handle (4) a 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Make sure that the red primer air regulator gauge (5) reads 5–7 psi (0.3–0.5 bar). Obtain and read Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all materials used. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe handling and use of materials, and use recommended personal protection devices. 11. Turn the SEALER switch on the controller to the AUTO position. NOTE S Primer colors vary and are dependent upon your application. Although you may be using clear primer, part A primer, or glass cleaner, this procedure makes references to red primer. Access the Manual Control Screen Perform the following: 1. Turn the SEALER switch on the controller to the MAN position. R 2. Touch MANUAL CONTROL on the controller display. 3. Enter your password. The Manual Controls screen appears. Fill the Pressure Pot with Red Primer 3 2 1. Make sure that the SEALER switch on the controller is in the MAN position. 1 4 2. See Figure 1. Close the red primer air shut off valve by turning the handle (4) a 1/4 turn clockwise. 5 3. Bleed air from the pressure pot (7) by opening the pressure relief ball valve handle (6) a 1/4 turn counterclockwise. 6 WARNING Make sure that the red primer air regulator gauge (5) reads zero before proceeding. 7 4. Open the filler ball valve by turning the handle (1) a 1/ turn counterclockwise. 4 5. Remove the fill plug (2). Carefully open and pour the desired amount of red primer into the fill port (3). Discard the empty red primer cans into a hazardous waste drum. 6. Make sure that red primer level on the Manual Controls screen displays 1.8–2 gallons. Replace the Black Primer Pail 1. Shake the new primer pail in an agitator according to the material supplier’s recommendations. 2. Carefully open the new black primer pail by removing both bungs and caps. Properly discard the bungs and caps into a hazardous waste drum. 3. Make sure that the SEALER switch on the controller is in the MAN position. 4. See Figure 2. Turn the pump air shutoff valve off by turning the handle (5) 1/4 turn clockwise. 5. Make sure that the fluid pressure gages (4, 6) read zero before proceeding. If the fluid pressure gages do not read zero psi, make sure that 10. Slowly turn the pump air shutoff valve on by turning the handle (5) 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Let the black primer circulate through the system for 15 minutes. 11. Listen to the pump stroke. Make sure that the pump is stroking every 4–5 seconds. If necessary, access the Diaphragm Pump Screen from the SYSTEM SET-UP screen to adjust the recirculation voltage. 12. From the Manual Controls screen, touch Test Black Valve to test the black primer dispense valve. a. one filter is online. b. Dead Head Primer Off is displayed on the Manual Controls screen. 6. Push the T-handle (1) down to release the spring pressure on the pail handle (2). Remove the T-handle assembly from the primer pail (3). If the test passes, perform the following: a. Touch Aknowl Alarm on the fault screen. b. Touch Save New Comp on the Manual Control screen. NOTE Do not reuse the black primer that is left in the original container. If the test fails, perform the following: a. Touch Aknowl Alarm on the fault screen. 7. Properly discard the black primer pail into a hazardous waste drum. 8. Install the new black primer pail onto the load cell plate. 9. Install the T-handle assembly onto the pail of black primer. Push the T-handle down (1) to engage the T-handle onto the top of the black primer pail handle (2). 6 b. Touch Save New Comp on the Manual Control screen. c. Press the FAULT RESET button on the controller. d.
