BOUNDARIES WITH POLLING PLACES
The following information is published to inform the public of the newly adopted Police Jury districts and
the subsequent changes to the voting precincts and polling places of Cameron Parish. The information
listed below, along with maps of the described Police Jury Election Districts and Precincts will be
available on the Cameron Parish Police Jury website at www.parishofcameron.net. Should you have any

POLICE JURY ELECTION DISTRICTS
Section 6-18 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows (POLICE JURY DISTRICTS
ADOPTED JUNE 4, 2015 by Ordinance No. 1015):
•
District No. 1 is comprised of Precinct 1 and the East division of Precinct 4.
•
District No. 2 is comprised of the West Division of Precinct 4.
•
District No. 3 is comprised of Precinct 16B
•
District No. 4 is comprised of Precincts 8, 9, and, 16C, the North division of Precinct 12,
and the East division of Precinct 17.
•
District No. 5 is comprised of Precincts 2, 13, and 15, the South division of Precinct 12,
and the West division of Precinct 17.

Section 6-16 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows (THOSE PRECINCTS CHANGED BY
ORDINANCE ADOPTED JUNE 4, 2015 ARE SO DESIGNATED by Ordinance No. 1015):
(a) Precinct 1: Beginning at the northwest corner of Cameron Parish, point being where the Sabine
River and Cameron Parish meet; thence following the center of the Sabine River to a point where it
enters Sabine Lake; thence following the east bank of Sabine Lake to the Gulf of Mexico. Point being
the southwest corner of Cameron Parish; thence from said point easterly along the shore of the Gulf
of Mexico to the west bank of the Calcasieu Ship Channel; thence north following the west bank of
the Calcasieu Ship Channel until it meets the west bank of Calcasieu Lake near Long Point; thence
in a southwesterly direction following the West Bank of Calcasieu Lake until it intersects with the
Sabine Refuge Back Ridge Canal; thence following the Sabine Refuge Back Ridge Canal in a
westerly direction until it intersects the Sabine Refuge Beach Canal; thence following the Sabine

to the south side of Highway, 27-82; thence in an easterly direction until intersecting Dan Street;

the point where the levee between the Intracoastal Waterway meets the southern boundary of Willow
Lake (also being the boundary between current U.S. Census blocks 2151 and 2147), THENCE
following the impoundment/bank of Willow Lake in an easterly direction, then in a northerly direction
to its intersection with Lateral 15 of Gravity Drainage District No. 8, THENCE in a northerly direction

northerly direction following the center flow channel of the Mermentau River until it intersects with the
center of Lake Arthur and following said center of Lake Arthur north until intersecting the Jefferson
Davis and Cameron Parish boundary line; thence in a westerly direction following said parish
boundary line until intersecting the center flow channel of Lacassine Bayou; thence in a southerly
direction to the Intracoastal Canal; thence in a easterly direction following the north bank until
intersecting the west bank of Grand Lake and the point of beginning.
(h) Precinct 9: Beginning at a point where the Intracoastal Canal meets the east bank of Grand Lake;
thence northwesterly following said bank until meeting the Mermentau River; thence continuing in a

of Lake Arthur and following the center of said lake north until reaching Cameron and Jefferson
