Warren William Jones April 10, 1942 - August 17, 2016 Warren William Jones, 74, of Fredericksburg, Texas, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas. Warren was born April 10, 1942 at Flandreau, South Dakota to Ralph and Betty Jones. He graduated from Flandreau High School in 1961. He attended Southern State Teacher’s College in Springfield, South Dakota and graduated with an associate’s degree in auto mechanics. He worked as an auto mechanic in Wisconsin and in Florida where he was employed with Walt Disney World for several years. He also sold petroleum products with another firm in Florida before moving to Texas for a job with a trucking firm where he traveled throughout the country, moving trucks from here to there. In 2006, he met Jackie whom he married on Jan. 6, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were both members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas. Warren is survived by his wife, Jackie; his brother and spouse, Robert and Cheryl Jones; niece, Shelby Bingham (Chris) and nephew, Jordan Jones (Sara); sister, Shirley Boone (Daniel) and nephews, Jeff, Scott, Todd and Jason; and niece, Nancy Libel. He is also survived by a step-daughter and spouse: Ange and Alton James of Tahoka, Texas; step-grandchildren and spouses: Amanda and Courtney Stidham, Cameron Childress, and Brian James, all of O’Donnell, Texas; Melissa and Aaron McCleskey of Tahoka, Texas, and Britt and Jenny James of Concan, Texas. Funeral services were held at 12 noon Saturday, Aug. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Stonewall with the Rev. Gary Mayer officiating. Graveside Masonic services and interment followed in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers included Walter Pletz, Danny Poole, Bill Janin, Duke Davis, Courtney Stidham and Cameron Childress. Honorary pallbearers were members of Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 794, Mike Dietrich and Bill Miller. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m.-12 noon at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 794 Building Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, Schreiner Children’s Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
