Reminders to Students: Don’t forget to bring your library books to class. Don’t forget your donation to the American Heart Association. The last day for donations will be November 5th. Please wear red on Wednesday for the Spirit/Character Ed. Assembly. Please wear your orange character ed. shirt on Thursday for the field trip to the theatre. Please wear red, white, and or blue for the field trip on Friday. PTO Meeting on Tuesday at 5:15 P.M. A field trip to Leach Theatre will be on Thursday. A field trip to the Missouri Veterans Home will be on Friday. A program to honor our Veterans will be on Monday, November 11th at 1 P.M. in the gym. Please invite your family and friends who have served our country to join us as we honor their service to our country. If your child was absent last week, please help him/her complete their homework and return it in the folder on Monday. Don’t forget to send a can of food on Friday for Fill a Ford for the holidays. Tips for Success from Mrs. Robison Create a homework station – Stock up on supplies like pencils, erasers, paper, crayons, glue, scissors, and a pencils sharpener. Don’t forget your child’s favorite snacks. Agree on a predetermined spot – Decide where your child should leave his/her backpack or lunchbox. If everything is in one place it makes it easier for you. Lay out clothes the night before school – This will help to avoid a meltdown in the morning. Classroom Newsletter bu Page 2 Reading/Spelling/Writing: Phonics: review short vowels a, i, u, and o. Reading: unit test Writing: Citizenship Science/Social Studies Veterans Thanksgiving Math: (Vocabulary words to know: addends, count on, doubles, doubles minus one, doubles plus one, number line.) Please incorporate these words into your conversations at home. Chapter 3 test will be on Tuesday. No math homework this week. We’ve started Rocket Math. Rocket Math is used to master addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts with speed and accuracy. It consists of 40 problems to finish in 5 minutes. Your child will move to the next level if he or she misses 8 problems or less. Your child is working on mastering his or her addition facts. Flashcards work great for this skill. Also, correcting missed problems on Rocket Math.
