JOB OPENING - Diocese seeks Receptionist/Administrative support
The Diocese of Kalamazoo is seeking full time candidates for receptionist position. See

To all the Faithful in the Diocese of Kalamazoo: The Most Rev. Paul J. Bradley, Bishop of
Kalamazoo, has granted special dispensation from the Lenten abstinence from meat for Friday,
March 17th, for those who wish to participate in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Members of the
Faithful who choose to eat meat on this day are required to do another penance in accord with
Lenten observance.
CRS Solidarity Meal, Friday, March 3 at 5:30pm at St. Catherine of Siena Marian Hall,
1150 W. Centre St., Portage. Enjoy a simple meatless Indian meal, and hear Kirtimayi
Mishra speak about her work serving communities in India with Catholic Relief Services.
A free will offering will be taken. Then join Bishop Bradley for Stations of the Cross at

DODD for married couples begins March 8th
Whether you have been married for 6 months or 60 years, come and join us on
Wednesday evenings starting March 8th at 6:30 pm. The Discovering Our Deepest
Desire Program consists of a series of evenings of interaction, prayer, reflection, and
activities designed to support couples in renewing their understanding of what it means
to have a Sacramental Marriage and to rediscover the one they fell in love. Sessions
begin MARCH 8th and will run 12 consecutive Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and
will be held in the Kalamazoo DPC (215 N. Westnedge Avenue).

Diocesan Priests’ Retirement Collection
For collection weekend March 4/5:
This weekend all parishes and missions in the Diocese of Kalamazoo are holding a
special collection to support our diocesan priests’ retirement fund. This collection
directly benefits priests of the Diocese of Kalamazoo and is separate from the annual
December collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious, which supports retired
clergy and sisters of religious orders across America.

Este fin de semana todas las parroquias y misiones en la diócesis de Kalamazoo tienen
una colecta especial para apoyar el fondo de retiro de nuestros sacerdotes diocesanos.
Esta colecta directamente beneficia a los sacerdotes de la diócesis de Kalamazoo y es
distinta de la colecta anual de diciembre para el fondo de jubilación para los religiosos,
que apoya el clero jubilado y hermanas de las órdenes religiosas de todo Estados
Unidos de Norte América.

Last weekend, our parish and all parishes and missions throughout our diocese took up
a special collection to support our diocesan priests’ retirement fund. To date, our

Diocesan Annual Retreat - March 4-5, 2017 at Transformations Spirituality Center.
Facilitators are Alanna Kenney, Megan Gilbert and Sara Pekar. This year theme is
Divine Irony: Engaging Goodness, Beauty and Truth in the Passion of Jesus. The
retreat begins with 9:00 am Mass on Saturday, March 4th and concludes after the 9:30
am Mass on Sunday, March 5th. There are two options available when you register –
one is with an overnight stay and the second is for those who would like to commute.
The cost is $100 for double occupancy, $125 for single occupancy and $80 for those
commuting. Deadline for these prices is February 22nd. After that there is an additional
$20 added on. All registrations are due by February 28th. For more information or to

JFM preparation weekends for the engaged
The Joy-Filled Marriage is a comprehensive marriage preparation program rooted in
virtues as well as the Theology of the Body. The program incorporates rich Catholic
theology with sound psychology. If you are planning to marry in the Catholic Church,
one of the components for marriage preparation is experiencing a JFM weekend before
the wedding day. Please register early because spaces fill up fast. Weekend dates in

The Diocesan Trauma Recovery Program will be holding the next round of classes in the
greater Kalamazoo area, beginning February 6, 2017. Registration is now open and space is
limited. If you believe your past hurts (from childhood experiences of abuse –
verbal/physical/sexual – or emotional neglect) have made your current life unmanageable, this
program may be for you. Please call Dr. Phyllis Florian for more information about registration.

A report of sexual misconduct can be initiated at the Diocese of Kalamazoo’s Sexual
Misconduct Question and Reporting Line: (877) 802-0115. A caller will be requested to provide
his or her name and telephone number. All calls regarding sexual misconduct will be returned,
usually within one hour. This toll-free telephone number has been established as a part of the
Diocese’s effort to protect children, young people and other vulnerable people in our schools,
parishes and ministries. This line is for reporting suspected sexual misconduct or child abuse
within Diocesan institutions and ministries only. If you have some other concern about Diocesan
schools, parishes or ministries, please contact the appropriate Diocesan school, parish or office
directly.
Bulletin announcement for February 26 and/or March 5 & 12-The Detroit Province Council of Catholic Women (from all dioceses of Michigan)
invites all women to attend their triennial convention on April 21-22, 2017 at the
Holiday Inn Near U of M in Ann Arbor, just off US 23. The theme is Lead Me
Lord, Renew My Strength.
The day and a half event (Friday & Saturday morning) will have some great
speakers, liturgy (Bishop Cistone will concelebrate & the Sisters of Mary, Mother
of the Eucharist will be singing!), raffles, vendors, banquet, and Irish fun!
Speakers will include: Fr. John Riccardo (remotely), Fr. Patrick Gonyeau
(Evangelization), Mr. Bill Richart (Divine Mercy), Mrs. Katie O’Mara (testimony),
and Fr. Patrick Maher.
