Theinjuredparticipantthatwishestoperformmay notreturntothecompetitionfloorunless: a. Thecompetitionofficialsreceiveclearance from,first,themedicalpersonnelattendingto thatparticipant,theparent(ifpresent)AND THENtheheadcoach/advisorofthecompeting team. b. Ifthemedicalpersonneldonotclearthe participant,theparticipantcanonlyreturnto thecompetitionifaparentorlegalguardianin attendancesignsareturntoparticipation waiver. c. Intheeventofasuspectedconcussion,the participantcannotreturntoperformwithout clearancefromaphysician(MD/DO)thathas trainingrelatedtoheadinjuries,andwaiting24 hours,evenwithawaiverfromaparentorlegal guardian. d. Inadditiontotheheadinjurypolicy,we encourageyoutobefamiliarwiththespecific lawwherethecompetitionisbeingheld. Inanefforttopromoteahigherlevelofsafetyfor competingathletes,theICUWorldCheerleading Championshipswillprovidespottersforallrehearsal andcompetitionfloors.Toprovidethesafest competitiveenvironment,teamsshouldnotattempt skillsbeyondtheirabilitylevel. IX.MUSIC 1. Forthe2017ICUWorldChampionshipsandJunior WorldChampionships,allNationalTeamswillhave thechoiceoffollowingtheUSACheer (www.usacheer.net)orICU(www.cheerunion.org) MusicCopyrightsEducationalInitiative. 2. IhavereadandunderstandtheUSACheerorICU MusicCopyrightsEducationalInitiativeandall soundrecordingsusedinourteam’smusicshall onlybeusedwiththewrittenlicensefromthe owner(s)ofthesoundrecordings. 3. Teamsmustbeabletoprovideproofoflicensing duringtheregistrationattheChampionships. 4. Ifateamdoesnothaveproofofmusiclicensing available,theywillbeallowedtoperformtoan optionalapprovedtrackofmusicoratrackwith counts(providedbytheICU)orcancountverbally. 5. Ifateamcannotprovideproofoflicensing,anddo notperformtoanoptionalapprovedtrackofmusic ortocounts,theteamwillbedisqualifiedfromthe competition. 6. Ifthereareconcernsregardingacertainteam’suse ofmusic,aChallengeFormmustbecompleted immediatelyfollowingtheteam’sperformance. 7. Achallengecanonlybemadebytheofficialcoach oranofficialNationalFederationrepresentativeof ateamcompetingattheeventatwherethe challengeisbeingmade. 8. ChallengeProcess: a. Allmusicchallengesmustbesubmittedin writingtotheInternationalCheerUnionhead official. b. Therewillbea$100USDfeetorequestamusic challengeandmustbeintheformofUSA currency. c. Feescollectedwillbereturnedifthechallenge iscorrect. d. Iftheteamchallengedcanprovide documentationduringtheeventorcanbe verified,thefeeswillbedonatedtoalocal children’scharity,St.JudeChildren’sResearch Hospital. e. Iftheteamchallengedcanprovide documentationthatrequiresfurtherreview,a VI.INTERPRETATIONSAND/ORRULINGS AnyinterpretationofanyaspectoftheseRulesand Regulationsoranydecisioninvolvinganyotheraspect ofthecompetitionwillberenderedbytheRules Committee.TheRulesCommitteewillrendera judgmentinanefforttoensurethatthecompetition proceedsinamannerconsistentwiththegeneralspirit andgoalsofthecompetition.TheRulesCommitteewill consistoftheCompetitionDirector,HeadJudge,anda designatedcompetitionofficial. VII.DISQUALIFICATION Anyteamthatdoesnotadheretothetermsand proceduresofthese“RulesandRegulations”willbe subjecttodisqualificationfromthecompetition,will automaticallyforfeitanyrighttoanyprizesorawards presentedbythecompetition,andmayalsoforfeitthe opportunitytoparticipatethefollowingyear. 7 decisionwillbefinalizedwithin48hoursofthe event. 9.
