DATES TO REMEMBER
Dear Families,
The end of another month is almost here.
Next week we will celebrate Red Ribbon
Week! There will be fun activities and dress
up days to remind us all to be healthy. The
end of October also brings the much
anticipated Halloween Parade.
This
wonderful tradition is one that all of us at
Parkmont and our neighbors look forward
to.
Please look for information and
permission slips from your child’s teacher.
The Halloween costume fundraising event
was very successful! Thank you to all those
who donated and those who purchased
costumes to help our Parkmont Facilities.
November Parent Teacher Conferences will
be here in about a month. Your child’s
teacher will be communicating to sign up
for a time to meet. This is a very important
meeting to discuss your child’s progress to
date. Please make every effort to attend.
Students will be on early dismissal Tuesday,
November 15th through Friday, November
18.
I hope this newsletter finds you all well and
you can enjoy some time with your friends
and family during these nice fall days.

LABEL YOUR BELONGINGS
PARKING LOOP REMINDERS
Each day hundreds of cars drop off and pick
up our students. With a school our size,
traffic can get pretty congested. The safety
of our students is our utmost priority.
While we are all in a hurry, please try to
remain calm and patient when picking up
and dropping off your children. Please be
respectful of our teachers, staff, parent and
student volunteers who are outside day in
and day out trying to keep the traffic
moving, but more importantly keeping our
kids safe. Visitor spots are the only spaces
open for parent parking in our parking lots.
Please follow the traffic flow rules and do
not park in staff parking lots even if you see
an open space. We thank you for your
understanding and cooperation.
CHANGES IN ELIGIBILITY FOR FUSD
PRESCHOOL
Now it is easier than ever to qualify -income limits have just been raised
significantly! Many more families will
now qualify
for
the
school
district's Free preschool. Children turning 3
by December 2 are now eligible. Fee-based
program also available. Call now: 659-2579.
Please write your child’s name on the inside
of sweatshirts and jackets. We received our
new Parkmont Spirit Wear and students will
begin wearing things that look identical to
another’s. Please make sure to label all
clothing so that it is not mistaken for
someone else’s. Thank you!
FUSD’S GOT TALENT!
On November 12th schools from around the
district will send one act to compete in the
district talent show. We had 15 very
talented acts audition to represent
Parkmont. We had a very hard job trying to
select our school’s winner. We are very
happy to announce Jennifer T. from P5 will
be playing piano and representing
Parkmont! We are very excited for this
opportunity!
PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
Here’s another amazing contribution from our
Parkmont Photography Club. Here's the winner
for Limb Chops - taking a photograph and
chopping off one or more limbs.
PANTHER PROWL MONEY DUE!
Please be sure to turn in your Panther Prowl
money by this Wednesday, 10/26 in order
to be eligible for prizes. Thank you in
advance for your support!

CLASSROOM INTERRUPTIONS
STAY INFORMED
We cherish the instructional time our
students receive each day. So we will not
interrupt class time for forgotten items with
the exception of eyeglasses. We cannot
accept forgotten lunches, homework,
projects, etc. in the office. If your child has
forgotten his/her lunch they can charge a
lunch and repay the next day. There are a
variety of options to choose from. No child
will go hungry. We thank you for your
understanding.
If you haven’t joined the hundreds of
families who’ve already signed up on
Remind, it’s not too late! Stay up to date
with all the events and happenings at
Parkmont. Signing up is free and easy.
