WELCOME TO ANOTHER GREAT SEASON OF SHOWS TO
TAKE US THROUGH TO THE FIRST BUDS OF SPRING.
This season we have superb headlining musicals beginning with
the West End tour of DIRTY DANCING in February bringing the
story of Johnny and Baby from screen to stage in this dynamic
production which is garnering rave reviews on tour.
A brand new stage show makes its Irish debut on our stage
when WONDERLAND arrives in February as part of its UK tour.
This enchanting musical adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic
stars Wendi Peters (Coronation Street) and acclaimed musical
theatre favourite, Dave Willets.
We have a wide range of Irish music artists this season with THE
HIGH KINGS, DEREK RYAN and CHARLIE LANDSBOROUGH in
January. HOMEGROWN returns in the same month featuring
a number of upand-coming local musicians including PAUL
CASEY and THE HENRY GIRLS. JOHNNY MCEVOY and the
globally renowned TOMMY FLEMING return while the ever
popular DANIEL O’DONNELL makes a welcome comeback in
April.
Our venue is recognised as being a leading venue on the
comedy circuit and this season we have Blame Game favourite
JAKE O’KANE in January; Irish comics CONAL GALLEN and
TOMMY TIERNAN in February while NEIL DELAMERE and OMID
DJALILI promise to provide fun nights out for our comedy going
patrons in March. I am delighted to welcome the
internationally renowned Royal Moscow Ballet with SLEEPING
BEAUTY and look forward to watching this fairytale world come
to life before our eyes with its breathtaking sets and vibrant
choreography.
We have drama with Shakespeare’s HAMLET, brought to us by
Icarus Theatre in January. There is comedy drama by popular
local playwright, Irene Melaugh, with THE DERRY DUMPED
DIVORCEES’ SUPPORT GROUP in March. The LMS joins us
with SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS later in the season.
We have a fabulous show for children when Olivier nominated
ROOM ON THE BROOM makes its debut in this magical, musical
adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and
Axel Scheffler.

Come Here Often celebrates its 20th anniversary and its finale.

The High Kings
Grace and Glory
The High Kings, true heirs of Ireland’s folk heritage, are back

News archive and the wackier side of the internet, Jake dissects
the insane from the mad and the worst from the bad, in his
usual inimitable style.

or his near fatal car journey around the Arch De Triumph in his

Donna Taggart
The Omagh born viral sensation began singing when she was
22. Donna first came to prominence in 2011 when her
acclaimed debut album Celtic Lady Vol. 1 was picked up by the

Lïnger “Tender and brave.” Judith Mackrell, The
Guardian
Choreographed by ex-Riverdance principal Breandán de Gallaí,
Lïnger is a contemporary Irish dance work involving two male
dancers at opposite ends of their careers.
Ériu’s work is a 21st century reimagining of Irish dance,
exploring the poetic potential of the genre and examining
topics rarely dealt with through traditional dance such as
identity, sexuality and ageing.
Performed by de Gallaí and Nick O’Connell this immersive
theatrical experience is a “powerfully tender and muscular
exploration of Irish gay masculinity”, and unfolds through a rich
tapestry of photography, film, music and movement.

Neil Delamere Handstand
Following sold out shows last year, the master of mirth is back
with his own unique brand of irreverent humour. 2016 was
another busy year for the perennially popular star of the Blame
Game, which celebrates its 10th birthday on TV this year. With
that, a science comedy series for RTE2 and his radio show on
Today FM under his belt, now he is back to where it all started,
talking to strangers in rooms for money.

Wonderland " An inspirational Musical"
TV and West End star Wendi Peters, much loved for her
acclaimed portrayal of Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation
Street, will headline the UK tour of Wonderland as Queen of
Hearts alongside musical theatre favourite Dave Willetts, who
rose to fame for playing the title role in Phantom of the Opera,
as White Rabbit. Hailed by the New York Times as
“inspirational”, Wonderland is an enchanting musical adaption
of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and
Through the Looking Glass, with a huge heart, a medley of
magic and a whole lot of wonder. Here a timely and touching

The Lonesome West
Bickering brothers, Coleman and Valene share a house in the
wild west of Ireland. One obsesses about his religious
ornaments and his precious poteen, the other thinks only of his
stomach, regularly crashing funerals in his quest for a free
sausage roll. Their local priest, troubled by a spate of murders
in the area, tries and fails to convince the squabbling pair to set
aside their petty differences. But when the brothers vow to be
nicer to one another and wipe the slate clean by confessing to a
string of vile misdemeanors towards one another, things can
only degenerate into vicious and bloody carnage.
The Lonesome West is the third play in Martin McDonagh’s
bleak but blackly comic Leenane trilogy.

The Magic of Music
A special event from the Education Authority Western
Region Music Service, Springfest 2017.
Hundreds of children from schools throughout the EA
Western Region Music Service area will participate in
workshops during the day, where the musical focus will be
on the exciting sounds of magical music- The Magic of
Music.
A 30 piece orchestra along with six vocalists will lead Key
Stage 2 pupils in a musical adventure featuring well known
songs and popular music.

John Prine
Two-time Grammy award winner and member of the
Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, John Prine will make a
long awaited, welcome return to the Forum.
A singer songwriter who, from his eponymously titled first

Philomena Begley & Ray Lynam
Known as the Queen of Irish Country music, Philomena
Begley has made a firm imprint on the Irish, British and
European markets. Begley has regularly toured with Ray
Lynam since 1975 and they have recorded many duets
together, their most popular songs being ‘My Elusive
Dreams’, ‘You’re The One I Can’t Live Without’ and ‘She

Xthetics Fitness showcase (XFS)
XFS returns to the Millennium Forum after the resounding

PHONE BOOKINGS: Tickets must be collected within
three working days of booking otherwise they may be
resold unless payment has been received. Tickets can be
posted but an administrative charge of £1.00 will apply.
Alternatively, they can be held at box office for collection
on the evening – there is no charge for this service. Calls

expressed permission of the Millennium Forum

available the Millennium Forum management will inform
customers of these in advance but on occasions this may

ticket purchased for a show is subject to a small premium
of £1.00
COURTESY WHEELCHAIR: The Millennium Forum has a
courtesy wheelchair that is available for assisting
customers to their seats. However, it cannot be used for
the show duration.
CAR PARKING: Foyleside East Car Park is open until
11.30pm Wednesday - Saturday for theatre goers. There
are a number of other car parking facilities in the city
centre, within a five minute walk from the Forum, such as
Whittaker Street Car Park (Just behind Foyle Street and
next to the Foyle Street Bus Station), Quayside, Queen’s
Quay Car Park, Foyle Road, Foyle Valley Railway Museum,
Bishop Street Car Park and Victoria Market Car Park. In
total, there are in excess of 2500 off-street car parking
spaces in the city centre.
