Lesson 4.6
Volume of a Right Triangular Prism
Curriculum Focus: Develop and use a formula to find the volume of a
right triangular prism.
Get Started:
How do we find the volume of a right rectangular prism???
Volume = base x height x length OR area of the base x height/length
How are rectangular prisms and triangular prisms related???
Both shapes have a base and are attached to rectangles to make a prism. In other words, they
both have a distinct shape that takes up area and that area takes up space.
So, how would we find the volume of a triangular prism???
Volume = base x height x length OR area of the base x height/length
2
