Tools you will need:
Ingredients of Wind Chime:
C Scissors
C Drill (optional)
C Imagination
C A piece of driftwood
C Shells with holes
C Twine
1. Find some shells on the beach. Look for ones with holes in them. If you cannot find enough
with holes ask your Mom or Dad to help you drill holes in the shells.
2. While you are on the beach look for a piece of driftwood 8-12 inches long. This will be the
cross piece for your wind chime.
3. Cut a piece of twine about 24 inches long.
4. Tie this piece of twine to each end of your driftwood. This is how you will hang your wind
chime.
5. Cut three pieces of twine about three feet long. You will use these pieces to hang your
shells.
6. Starting about 8 inches from the end of the twine start tying your shells on.
7. Tie the shells on every 6 to eight inches. Vary the distances between the shell.
8. Once you have 5 or 6 shell tied on cut off the remaining twine.
9. Tie the string of shells onto the drift wood.
10. Continue steps 6-9 for your other pieces of twine
11. Once you are done you have a wonderful seaside wind chime.
