PROGRAM OUTLINE
This comprehensive 2-day summit features global insights and perspectives on the clinical management of endometriosis from renowned experts
from around the world. The summit will include lectures, debates and live/
unedited footage from these expert surgeons, as well as outstanding new
research that will be presented for the first time. The current and future
management options for endometriosis will be explored in detail.
In addition, this course includes a pre-recorded live surgical demonstration of a procedure to eradicate deep infiltrating endometriosis with rectal
and parametrial resection using to the nerve-sparing “Negrar Method.” The
presenter will describe the anatomical way to approach a widespread endometriosis involvement by means of development of the correct spaces and
sparing the noble structures (nerves, ureter, pelvic vessels where possible).
The focus will be on how to approach the pararectal spaces, presacral
space, rectovaginal septum, and how to spare, where possible, the whole
visceral innervation of the pelvis (hypogastric nerves, pelvic spanchnic
nerves, hypgastric plexa) without renouncing to the radical excision of the
disease. A step-by-step description of the technique will be presented,
including adnexal mobilization, sigmoid mobilization, ureterolysis, paremeterial dissection and resection, segmental rectal resection with termino-terminal anastomosys.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course, the participant
will be able to: 1) Discuss surgical and medical treatment of endometriosis
following presentations by leading experts in the treatment of this chronic
and debilitating disease; 2) identify the pelvic anatomical landmarks for
deep infiltrating endometriosis surgery; 2) describe the surgical technique of
nerve-sparing eradication of deep infiltrating endometriosis with rectal and
parametrial resection; and 3) discuss the advantages of a radical surgery.
