Welcome to the Lakelands Mini World Cup We would like to welcome you all to the 3rd edition of the Lakelands FC Mini World Cup Tournament. We are delighted to have so many boys and girls taking part again this year. A very warm welcome to our members, non-members and those taking part in their first such event. We hope everyone enjoys their football over the next few days. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our main sponsor ‘Stillorgan Village Centre’ for all their help and support. I would like to acknowledge the parents/guardians for their contribution and ensuring that all the kids get to their Mini World Cup matches; please ensure you arrive at least 15mins before the scheduled kick-off time. A special thank you to the residents of Balally Hill & Wedgewood for allowing us to host this fantastic event here. I would ask that you remember that this is a residential area and to adhere to the parking instructions from our stewards and keep roadways free. Finally, I would also like to acknowledge the great efforts made by all our volunteers who help make this event possible. Thank you all and hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Girls soccer is really growing every year and Lakelands FC has been supporting this by continually growing the numbers of girls playing for the club. We have girls playing from the U10’s up to U13’s. The U10’s is for girls from ages 7 upwards and we also welcome girls along to our academy so they can start playing soccer at ages 5 & 6. The Lakelands FC girls had a great season with all our teams competing in the MGL (Metropolitan Girls League) which covers all of Dublin and surrounding areas. Our U10’s Premier team were Cup Finalists back in May and all our teams finished strongly in their respective leagues and can look forward to another great season ahead. We are really looking forward to welcoming all the girls back for the new season and it is great to see so many familiar and new faces playing in the Mini World Cup. We run many events and mini tournaments/blitzes throughout the season and we would really welcome more girls joining the club. The MGL kicks off again in early September and we have training commencing again in late August. This is on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8 in the Benildus Astro Pitches. Our games are on Sunday mornings and we arrange games so that we can fit in with the busy sporting schedules of many of our players. The girls will be guaranteed lots of fun and will make some great new friends too. If you have any questions regarding our girls soccer teams, then please contact us. You can contact myself Hugh Marron at [email protected] or call me on 087 9099366. We have some great coaches working with the girls teams and we will help your daughter enjoy playing soccer and have fun every week. Thanks for coming along to our Mini World Cup! Hope you enjoy the weekend.
