SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION
TOP TEN LIST OF THE NEW THINKERS
For each of the influential thinkers listed below, develop a TOP TEN list of their most important accomplishments
and contributions to the intellectual development of European culture.
1. Develop a list of ten or more pieces of information regarding the person’s accomplishments. These facts
should include new ideas, inventions, publications, the influence the person may have had on others, and
the reaction by other people to this person’s work.
2. Evaluate your list of facts. Be sure to set criteria or have a rationale for ranking the facts. Place the
information in order from most important to least important.
3. Create a TOP TEN list (a la David Letterman)… “The TOP TEN reasons why ….” Be creative and clever, but
make sure your information is accurate. Be sure to record the criteria you used to make your decisions.
4. Present your list to the rest of the class.
