Ceramic Cement & Fibre Rope
Ceramic Cement +1600 degrees application
The cement is a two component system comprising of Cement and Binder. The mix ratio is
approximately 75% by weight cement, 25% by weight binder.
These can be purchased separately or as a package (3kg cement to 1kg binder).
The two should be mixed together to a consistency similar to honey and then applied to the
outer surface of the ceramic tube. The mix can also be applied to the ID of the holding tube
(generally Stainless Steel) and the ceramic tube inserted. For best results mild heat can be
applied to the holding tube to dry the mix. The cement becomes hard and ready to use as
soon as it dries. Drying can be done as fast as 30 minutes.

Fibre Rope
Stranded Ceramic Rope
The fibre can be tied onto the ceramic tube before
fixing onto the metallic tube prior to sealing with
cement. It is made up of long ceramic fibres woven
to form a string.
The thermal stability of these fibres is fairly good up
to 12000C which is sufficient for this application as the
string is used at the cold end where the ceramic tube
is held on to the stainless steel tube.
